I avoided West Linn Hairport for a long time because the name of the salon just didn't grab me the way I needed it to. It sounded more like a Great Clips than an upscale beauty salon, and I never bothered to check it out. Then I spent one horrible evening attempting to bleach my long hair with an at-home kit, and I needed someone to fix the mess I made- immediately. I called every salon in the phone book that claimed to specialize in hair color, and no one tried to fit me in. When I called the West Linn Hairport, they made a real effort to go out of their way for me. I asked for a color specialist and they made me an appointment with Robyn for the next morning. Not only did she come to work early and stay late to work on my hair, which ended up being a six-hour project, but she did an amazing job with it. My hair looked exactly the way I wanted it to- better, even. Once I started getting my hair cuts from her as well, I was even more impressed with her skill- Robyn understands the way my hair falls and knows how to give me to cut I want while best complimenting my hair's natural state and my facial structure as well. In the last year, I have had Robyn bleach my waist-length to a platinum blonde, highlight my hair with bright red and pink, cut my hair to a chin-length bob, dye my hair back to its natural color, give me bangs, tame my grow-out, and re-layer my now medium-length hair. Everything she's done with me has been exemplary, and everything she suggested, no matter how unsure I was initially, ended up being exactly right. She did an amazing job cutting my boyfriend's approximately eight-inch long curly hair, too- every other hair dresser he's ever seen cut his hair in a way that just didn't work with the way his hair naturally dries. Robyn knew how to work with his curls and cut his way in a way that would compliment his features the best. She is versatile, receptive, smart, and fun. Best of all, her rates are competitively low and she isn't hard to schedule.
Pros: Robyn, good hours, convenient location
