A modern derivative of the original teachings of Okinawan kempo, Attsuuten-ryu kempo-jutsu is a striking art developed by Sensei Michael S. Peterson. Mr. Peterson is founder and Grand Master of Attsuuten-ryu kempo-jutsu, and after years of development, was inducted into the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame as ""Founder: Attsuuten-ryu kempo-jutsu"" by the International Martial Arts Council of America (IMAC) in August of 2008. He has an extensive background in Okinawan karate, having starting his studies in Los Angeles, California at the age of 14 in the art of Isshin-ryu. He has been inducted into multiple martial arts hall of fames and was awarded a Ph.D. in Martial Arts Philosophy from the University of Asian Martial Arts Studies, Department of Martial Arts Affairs, recognized by the International Council/Chapter of Higher Martial Arts Education for his extensive knowledge in pressure point applications and human anatomy as it pertains to the martial arts. He currently holds the office of Kentucky State Representative for IMAC.
