Fond memories of Prantl's during my college days 3/23/2006

This is by far the best bakery in the heart of Pittsburgh. My friends and I would walk over to Prantl's every week when we were at Pitt. You HAVE to try the almond torte and the lady locks, but everything I have tried there is delicious! This family owned bakery has reasonable prices and lots of variety to choose from - cookies, candy, bread, cakes and pastries. I recommend you do not visit here if you are on a diet because you will give in to the temptation! The only negative I have regarding Prantl's is that parking can be a problem on Walnut Street. more

Sweet Food 8/16/2005

Prantls occupies and unassuming store on Walnut Street. Inside are delicious baked goods, ranging from simple cookies to yummy cakes. The store can get crowded with shoppers but it won't take long to get served - though probably not by an overly friendly person. Prices are reasonable and only cash is accepted. more
