Editorial review from Citysearch 8/30/2013

I highly recommend Power Movers! They did a fantastic job for me. What I wanted them to move was my big stuff: washer, dryer, frig, 92"" sofa, love seat, over-stuffed chair, big wooden desk, massive waterbed frame and headboard, couple of bookcases, etc, and I needed them moved to two different places. Obviously we needed to make two trips, and needed to load selectively and efficiently so that everything was on the right load and everything got there. Chris was extremely professional and savvy in how he loaded things and also how, when we got there, he unloaded stuff and packed it into my 10'x10' storage area. You would never expect we could fit everything into that area but actually I have room left over for the assorted boxes and loose items I still have to move. Chris' helper was very personable in our conversations during our two trips, and a very hard worker during the move. The two of them even agreed to move my big screen TV (not a flat-screen -- this one has a big ole' tube and is very heavy) up from the basement to the main floor even though it wasn't part of my move. I was very impressed with that, because it was a tough job.\r They did all this in about 4 hours, with nearly one hour just driving from one spot to another.\r I highly recommend Power Movers for those situations where you have access to a truck (my storage unit included a one-time move-in deal where I got one day's use of a 14' box truck for free!) but want/need smart, friendly, and strong movers. Chris et al are the ones to call!\r more

Very Impressed 3/8/2012

I had some work done on the place I was going to move into so I had my things stored in the garage. I hired Power Movers to bring my things up when I was ready to move in. The gentemen that arrived were on time, courteous and hard working. They guaranteed they would not damage any of my things, and they didn't. I will be hiring them again in the future!! more

Stress free moving? YES! 8/27/2010

I moved from a 3rd floor walk up in Issaquah to a home in Puyallup (with a side trip to a storage unit to boot!). Thanks to Power Movers it went very smoothly. \r Eugene and Jose were GREAT! \r They arrived right on time, exactly, and proceeded straight to work.\r I admired their hardwork and they even managed to make what normally would have been a stressful day a lot more fun.\r They were congenial and efficient and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.\r more

Chris ... you're either on drugs or crazy. 8/4/2010

Honestly, all I can do is laugh at the absolutely ridiculous response that Chris Corbray wrote about my previous review of Power Movers. Every single thing he wrote was a lie. Not only did I not call his drunken black employee who stole all my stuff any names, I purchased both of the guys lunch, ran to get them bottles of water, and did everything I possibly could to help them (before I discovered my things were stolen and many of my items were damaged). My son was in bed and they had to work around him???? Come on Chris, do you really and truly think one person on the face of the earth would believe that? By the way, when I saw how out of control this move was becoming, I called Chris frantically to try and get his help but he refused to answer the phone or call me back. Why? He was at one of his kids' ball game. I finally did talk to him one time when we tricked him and used one of his employees cell phones and, when he found out it was me, he hung up on me. He NEVER came over to my house. I wouldn't know he was black because I've never seen him in my life. By the way, Chris ... if you saw me, what color am I? How old am I? How tall? How much do I weigh? You should know all these things since you claim to have seen me in person. It's true you reimbursed me a couple of hours but I NEVER made a threat against you (that was before I discovered all the stuff was stolen). Your ""F"" rating in the Better Business Bureau is actually too high ... they need to find a lower one than that. Anyone who reads these reviews and still hires this guy is going to be sorry. You've been warned ... more

Too Review Above False 4/15/2010

The lady's review above is totally untrue. Was the most prejudiced person i've ever spoke too. She called by black mover so many names and ridiculed him throughout the move. The other fellow with the accent was russian, who by the way has been in America for 15 years and and is now a US citizen. This same crew has been requested many times over by other custoimers and their referred friends. Her main reason of complaint is that the movers took 10 hours instesd of 6. She was completely unpacked and we had to pack her items as well. Her sons room was a mess. He was even in bed the whole time we moved his room and had to move around him. They lady complained that they were taking to long. To make her happy, I gave her 2 hours off her bill. She said that would make her happy, but I guess it didn't. When I went out to the move later in the day, her eyes almost bugged out when she saw I was also black. She started even harrassing me after 10 minutes of me being there. As I was leaving, she aske if she could get to more hours off....i told her no. She said she would write bad reviews in the future about me if I didn't. I told her she could do that if she wished but karma would win out in the end. My company moves several thousand customers a year both in the Seattle area, and Portland, and we never had a customer like this. We wish her well in life.\r \r p.s. Besides, anyone who did what she said would in in jail, and not in business for 17 years. Pros: over 60,000 satisfied customers. Cons: 1 very unhappy one. more

WORST MOVERS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!! 9/19/2009

I made the unfortunate decision to use Power Movers a couple of months ago and am still in shock over what happened. Their picture shows 2 huge strong guys but they sent one old smoking alcoholic and another guy who barely spoke English. During the move, several pieces of my furniture were damaged (including 2 antique items), several pieces of my jewelry were stolen (including an heirloom gold/diamond necklace of my mother's), they stole my son's SS card and a small amount of cash from his drawer, destroyed a TV set, and damaged shrubs in the new yard when they DROVE OVER the top of them with the truck! They refused to use the pads I had rented and didn't tie down the articles in the truck. They took 10 hours to make a 6 hour move and still left so much of my stuff back at the place I moved out of that I had to make a dozen more trips in my car to get it all out. I reported them to the BB Bureau, Attorney General's office, and King County Sheriff; of course, they deny everything. If you don't believe me, check out their ""F"" rating at the Bureau for yourself. This was the worst move I've ever made in my life and I'm still in shock over everything that happened. DON'T USE THEM!! You will regret it forever!!\r \r \r Pros: Absolutely none. Cons: Absolutely everything. more
