Taxes and Investment Services - a good scorecard 11/7/2017

I have been going to Powell Financial Services for many years first starting with some small investing, management of my Retirement accounts, and many years of tax preparation. All has been a good experience and my best interest was first. My company once forgot to file a tax document so I got the letter from the IRS, but Powell Financial Services took care of it. more

Horrible Tax Preparation 10/6/2005

I went to this accountant for the first time to get my taxes done. When he was done I was surprised to find out that I was getting a larger refund than previous years. I questioned why the amount was so high and he told me it was due to changes I had during the year. The next year I get a letter from the IRS that I received too large of a refund. I had to pay back the overage PLUS interest. The accountant was unprofessional when I called him about the error. He admitted it was his mistake, but refused to pay for the interest. Do not let him touch your tax return! more
