Good: I took my car in because i thought i was having transmission issues so they said they would take a look for free and they even dropped me off at home while they did so. They found a couple issues with the engine and referred me to another place. Freddies auto repair who came and picked up the car from Poway trans. And when they were done they dropped it back off to have some axel work done.. Bad: I loved every part of their service. Steve and Karen were just wonderful. They kept in touch with me and kept me up to date at all times.. Improvements: I have no sugestions for improvements. They were wonderful!. Other: They dropped me off and picked me up from my home when everything was done. Getting my car worked on is always a stressful time but with Poway Transmission they really made me feel much more relaxed about the whole thing. I definitely recommend them to anyone. And Freddies repair, they were great!!!! Thank you all!. more

They did the free evaluation with the coupon, determined it was not a transmission problem, and took it to a nearby mechanic. They could have recommended transmission service, but advised that was not the problem. Impressive honesty in the auto repair business. more

I took my car to the dealer and was told that I needed to have a $1900 leak sealed in my transmission. I took it to Poway Transmission for a second opinion. They didn't charge me to check it out and told me I needed to do nothing. They could have easily been dishonest and agreed with the dealer, but they were honest and I left without doing anything. And they gave me a ride home while they checked it out. I would never go anywhere else for transmission work. Thank you for being so honest. more

I took my son-in-laws' jeep wrangler into the shop a couple of weeks ago. Last year he hit the off ramp and did some damage to it. While he was away visiting his mom and dad in Indiana (just home from Iraq), I took his jeep in to get it fixed. It wouldn't go into 2nd gear. The shop put it up on the rack, and determined, free of charge, that there probably wasn't anything wrong with the transmission, that the frame was interfering with the stick shift. I took it to a body shop (auto body excellence) which is in the same pkg lot, and they got the frame squared up. Low and behold, the gears shifted perfectly when the frame was fixed. Poway transmissions didn't charge a nickel for the diagnosis, and even took the car over to the body shop for me....When and if I ever need a transmission shop in the future, I know who I will choose, and recommend. I own a 1998 Mazda 626 -- a model year with known transmission problems. I bought it used and within weeks had to take it in for a rebuild (This first rebuild was not done by Poway Transmission) 13 months later, the tranny died again, and this time I took it to Poway. They repaired it quickly and it ran like a dream...for 13 months again! I took it back to them, and they honored the one year warranty, even though it was a month out of warranty. How's that for service? They were polite are helpful throughout. Strongly recommend. more

Well, when i took my old car here because I *thought* there was a transmission problem, the staff was nice and ready to help. He told me to leave the car there, and they would call in a few days. Well, the next day i got a call. It wasn't the transmission, but rather a blown head gasket, and they could not fix it. The mechanic gave me a list of places that could repair it, and told me what the average cost would be. This was very nice of them, and i appreciated it very much. I would send anyone here who needs transmission work or the like done on their vehicle. more
