I've been to this studio twice in the last month, and with good reason. I had a great time, and so did my best friend, and my three-year-old daughter.
The studio has an easy to find location on a cute section of Stark, and it's adorable inside. There are tons of choice for painting pieces (at every price range) and all the prices are clearly marked and have supplies and studio time included when you purchase your piece, so there aren't any surprises there. For my first visit I chose a set of coasters, and when I wasn't done in one visit, they were put aside for me to come back and finish another time. For my second visit I brought my daughter and she had a great time too.
The proprietor, Mark, is a jovial guy, and seemed to materialize whenever I had a question. He was friendly and helpful with techniques without being overbearing when I was there with my friend, and was really great with my kiddo, which I appreciate immensely. We'll definitely be going back for our yearly handprint items.
The only possible negative to the experience might be parking. Since it's right across the street from the theater, I can imagine there might not be parking right in front of the shop at all times. But there's neighborhood parking all the way around the block.
There is a set schedule for firing times, so you know when your piece will be ready, and once you've put your heart into painting something you're excited for the finished product. For something fun and relaxing to do, Pottery Fun is a great place to spend an hour--or if you're a perfectionist like me, you can spend the whole afternoon!
