Best Sandwiches in CBUS... AND THEY HAVE COOKIES! 6/9/2010

So I walk into to Potbellys and I take in the memorobelia hanging on the walls. There was a lot of vintage photos and it creates for a nice atmosphere. \r \r But, more importantly, the food was PHENOMENAL!!! I ordered the turkey/ swiss cheese sandwich with an a oatmeal chocolate chip cookie... FANTASTIC. The sandwich was oven toasted, and the cookie was definitely the best cookie i've ever had at a restaurant. (they make them fresh everyday)\r \r I think what I really enjoyed about it was in addition to the sandwiches great taste was the price was so reasonable. I was comparing it to subway's turkey sandwich which usually runs me about 6.50... 7 dollars if i want to get a so so cookie, but there sandwiches are about 4.50 with a AMAZING cookie taking the total to around $5.50... If I had a choice between Subway and Potbelly's I would def. pick Potbellys.\r \r ps. it is located in the Gateway on campus which is a pretty cool area to begin with. Pros: Great tasting Sandwiches and Cookies at a reasonable price Cons: parking more

Owner Message
  • Potbelly Sandwich Shop - Good vibes, great sandwiches at your neighborhood sandwich shop. Potbelly started in 1977 when an antique store on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago started selling toasted sandwiches. The same care and attention used to select our antiques went into the recipes and menu preparation. Meats and cheeses were sliced in the store every day. The bread finished its baking as the sandwich came out of the oven, making it perfectly toasted on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Fresh, crisp vegetables and condiments are added for a tasty sandwich like no other. And folks could add an old-fashioned, real ice cream milkshake that was hand dipped especially for them. Potbelly still does things exactly the same way today. For over 30 years we have maintained this distinctive homemade quality and pride in our food that made our first store on Lincoln Avenue a favorite.
