YUM!!! 9/30/2008

Great experience!!! Parking was convenient and free .We heard about Post Oak Grill Cafe after a coworker came back and raved about the cafe. We went and were promptly seated. Our server was upbeat and charismatic. I had the blackened salmon salad and my coworkers had the light chicken wrap and the pulled pork sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their plate and ate every morsel. The food was just as good as post oak grill but at an affordable price. We decided to make this our favorite lunch place and will frequent. KUDOS!!! Pros: Great Prices!!! Cons: Can't think of one more

O.K. food, Good Price. 4/12/2008

Polo came up to our table and made my friend and I feel very comfortable, however, the services isn't that great. They took about 20 minutes to bring us our wine. The food was O.K. but for the price I can't complain. Don't go there if you're hungry, the portions are too small. If you do decide to go, you must try the lamb lollipops. Just great. Bottom line: Affordable prices and O.K food. more

Great, original tapas. Very creative. 4/9/2008

My husband and I have been here twice now and think the place is wonderful. We have had great food and great service. The staff is very attentive to our needs and the chef has come out and introduced himself each time. I know that the restaurant was open under this name previously (never went there) and then reopened two weeks ago. In this reincarnation, I highly recommend it. The polenta bowl is great, the pork belly is tasty and tender. We has the soft shell crab special tonight and that was great. We have been recommending the place to friends and will come back with some. Pros: Creative menu, wide variety of meats/seafood/vegetables. more

Good food, not very good service 3/14/2008

My wife and I went to Saga this past Valentines day for a late dinner (9:30 reservation) since she was flying in. Despite the late time of our reservation and the fact the restaraunt was half empty, we were seated in the worst table possible. The table was within 15 feet of the front door and right in front of the live entertainment they had. The menu was a set menu with ok food at a very good price. Service was bad with it taking 10-15 minutes to get a glass of wine. Overall we don't want to be too critical because it was valentines day and a set menu so we will go back if only becaues they seemed to have a nice patio and it was a good value. Pros: Good Value Cons: Bad Service more

Saga needs to learn from big brother Polo's 2/23/2008

Having been to Polo's numerous times we were expecting Saga's to be somewhat close in quality and service. We agree with the other critic in regards to the ceviche, it is made with popcorn size shrimp and very little fish. My husdand's ribeye was dry, overcooked and tasted like it had been frozen. We were so disappointed that we did not even consider getting dessert which is always a must with us. The service was neither good or bad. We wish them luck because they are going to need it. Pros: Martini Cons: Food more

Great Prices! 2/21/2008

I had a fabulous evening at Saga. The food was beautiful and very gourmet, but at such affortable prices. Its so nice to be able to go out and have a nice meal without spending a fortune. I had the snapper and crab meat special and it was fantastic. My sister who doens't like seafood even thought the fish was great. That is how seafood is supposed to taste! Her chicken was excellent and was only $9.95! THe bread they serve before the meal is so good....I could eat a mountain of those biscuit things. Definitely a must try restaurant. The service was excellent as well, and it was such a highlight when Chef Polo himself came out to greet our table. A+++++++ I will definitely go back Pros: extremely affordable prices, friendly service, excellent food for the price more

We did enjoyed every single minute in there! We just had some tapas, which were the best you should try the Lamb Lollipop! The service was great I would definetly would go AGAIN N AGAIN, SAGA ROCKS! Pros: thumbs up! more

French Onion Soup was the best I ever tasted 2/10/2008

While on business in the Houston are I visited Saga Food and Wine. The atmosphere was great and the waiter was friendly. I had the French Onion Soup and Lobster Ravoli which reminded me of the food in New York City. I will definetly come back on my next visit to Texas. more

Deliciously prepared food and surprisingly reasonable prices - esp the wine! 2/10/2008

We decided to try Saga over the weekend to beat the Valentine's day rush. The restaurant is romantic but busy on Saturday night. The husband went straight for the grilled NY Strip Steak which was prepared perfectly medium rare and infused with a cabernet wine sauce. I went straight for the Santa Margherita pinot Grigio which tends to drive up our bill but the wine is less than most upscale restaurants we've tried. Saga has a lot of small entrees to choose from and i selected the Lamb Lollipop to start...absolutely delicious and infused with mint! The restaurant was busy but our server was attentive and knew the menu and the food well enough to make suggestions. I had the crispy jumbo shrimp with potatoes which was good but not a great as that lamb lollipop! We will definitely return to Saga! Pros: Great food and cheap wine! Cons: none more

Avoid unless you like awful service and bad food 2/9/2008

My friends and I tried out this place and were all dissappointed in the quality of the food and service. The ceviche tasted so bad and was not anywhere near what ceviche should normally taste. The fried calamari and shrimp tasted like shrimp from a frozen bag and I think even popcorn shrimp from a fast food place would have tasted better. The gumbo was supposed to be served over a bed of rice...I think I was able to count 4 pieces of rice. The mussels were completely closed shut and uncooked. My plate was practically untouched by the end of the meal and yet the waiter never bothered to stop by to ask how the food was...probably because they knew not to ask. The manager came by to ask and when we told her, she said she would take care of the problem considering 3 of our plates were just plain inedible and remained untouched. Her "taking care" of the situation meant taking off 1 dollar of each person's meal. On our way out, every table we passed by were complaining about their food. I would never recommend this place to anyone. more
