Place Looks Closed For Business.......... 12/28/2011

Stopped the other night and everything was dark with chairs on tables, etc. Heard from one of the ""regulars"" that the owner emailed the staff and said the place would not re-open. Sad.......... more

Great Pizza 7/11/2011

I have read some of the reviews here and I guess they had some bad experiences, but I have been coming to Positano's for 11 years and have always loved their pizza. I am from New Jersey and really miss NY style pizza, and I have found that Positano's is the best in this area. Their lunch buffet is amazing for the price. As far as dinner goes, I always order the eggplant parm, and am never disappointed. more

Pasitano's on Colonial in Ocoee 6/27/2011

I?ve gone to Pasitanos for at least a decade and my family and I have watched the service, food quality, management and cleanliness of this place hit rock bottom! We went the other night for my mother?s birthday and it was a disaster squared! By the end of the dinner we had multiple wrong orders brought to the table, crying servers and a table large enough for 11 people completely covered in plates, bottles and glasses that should have been removed by a busser or a server long before we left! I wish I could post video or photos to this review because I have both to support this claim. Also the manager or Owner? That was hiding in the kitchen and yelling at the servers while refusing to come talk to us about the problems made the situation 1000 time worse by not just coming out and apologizing for the chaos. I won?t say his name but it started with a B and ended with ?ernie?. more

Waste of Time and Money 6/16/2011

Have been going to Positanos for pizza and pasta. Would give it a 4 star. Went for Veal dishes and could not believe the HIGH price and SMALL portions. Two small pieces of veal, 1/8 inch thick and 3 inch diameter no pasta (only potatoes -mashed and mixed vegetables. Soup or saled 19.98 what a rip off. Horrible experience and we're never going back again. more

beware of their coupons 11/3/2010

We took the coupon in that said buy one get one free meal. We got the half portion of dinner instead of the full portion. No where on the coupon mentions this as an exclusion. The waitress refused the accept the coupon and it was only for full order. Not only that, she asked us if we wanted a menu. Hell yeah, I'm in a restaurant. I had to get my own utensils and napkins. Also, when we got our meals, they forgot to add the chicken. Horrible experience and we're never going back again. more

Rude over the phone, pizza not as good as it used to be 8/13/2010

I called for pizza delivery and the woman on the phone was very rude and snapped ""it'll be there in 45 min"" & slammed the phone down on me as I was saying ""ok. thank you"". When the pizza came it sucked. Positano used to have NY style pizza: thin crust, pecorino cheese as well as mozzarella, tasty, crispy, perfect pizza. The pie they delivered tonight (a med for $17!) could have come from CiCi's (a local crappy pizza place with the worst and cheapest pizza in town)! Pizza hut is better than this crap and cheaper too! I used to recommend this place as the only place to get real Italian pizza in town, now I'm going to be telling everyone else I know to avoid it at all costs. Why pay more for lousy pizza and to be treated like dirt? Ciao Baby! more

Newly Remodeled Dining Room 11/21/2009

My husband and I have been going to Positanos restaurant for over 10 years every Saturday or Sunday evening. We love the formal dining room changes and wonderful staff that greet us at the door. Even though mgmt and ownership have changed, the chef has not, so we enjoy the fantastic nightly specials he prepares for us and the extensive wine list. We will keep coming back. Pros: Food is wonderful and atmosphere in Main Dining Room Cons: Live music is no longer available. more

Bad treatment of customer 7/6/2009

To add to the above review. Francos Pizza also in Ocoee makes great pizza and there management are very very nice. That's where I will be ordering from now on. and they are not as pricey :) more

Poor treatment of customer 7/2/2009

I have faithfully ordered pizza from the Ocoee west location. Tonight I placed an order and was told something other than what I have always been told. The woman who picked up the phone was extremely rude refused to put the manager on the phone (apparently related) and hung up the phone on me. I order from there almost everyweek and sometimes twice a week. New management very rude and didn't seem to care how much money they just lost with losing us as customers. To think how often I have refeered them out. Never again. Poor customer service more

Good food...wrong music 4/22/2009

Not that the band was bad (they weren't) but to have the loud island band at a beautiful place of class and style as this, kind of ruined what would have been a pleasant evening. I will return, however, but will call ahead to make sure there is no live band playing that night. A soft jazz trio would have been nice or single guitar or piano player....what were they thinking!?!? Pros: Good Food, Good Service, right price, nice atmosphere Cons: Wrong music (island band) more

What a difference! 5/13/2008

WOW! This place has changed for the worst. Once the best place for Italian food and NY style pizza Orlando, it's a shame they let it go. Everything has changed, the owner, the management, alot of the staff. Our last dining experience was a disaster. We had this waitress with no personality what so ever and clueless. She barely spoke over a whisper. Our glasses went empty for about 15 minutes before I decided to get the attention of another waiter to refill our drinks. The bread that was served to us tasted like styrofoam and they now use whipped spead (82% vegetable oil) margarine, no more butter. We ordered pizza slices as our appetizer and even the pizza was not the same, it was just okay. The salads that came with our entrees had wilted day old lettuce and the ranch dressing was terrible. For our entrees we had the Chicken Marsala and Veal Positano, the chicken was very tough and dry, and the sauce didn't taste the same. The veal was also very tough, the potatoesthey served with the meal seemed day old and microwave reheated. We didn't want to stick around for dessert , we were already so disapointed. I asked our clueless waitress to speak with the owner or manager and apparently the owner was to engaged with paper work to come so the manager came. He seemed very short with us and wasn't at all concerned about our dining experience or our opinions on the taste of the food. I would only recommend for people to stay away. Pros: Plenty of parking due to the lack of customers. Cons: Everything goes downhill when you walk through the doors. more

New Owners - Not as Good Anymore 5/5/2008

We have been going to Postano's since they first opened many years ago. We recently have noticed changes that have been very disappointing. We would often order a ceasar salad for two (their cesar salad is very good) and we would each get a slice of either white pie or stuffed pizza. The white pizza is not as good as it used to be and they stopped serving single slices of the stuffed pie. What a disappointment that is. We went tonight and they put a basket of bread on the table. The garlic knots were terrible - they were also stale - that has happened the last few times. Tonight we noticed that the italian bread was different - it was terrible. But that wasn't a problem because we had no intentions of eating it - they now serve a small container of spread. We asked for butter and we were told they don't have butter anymore. Terrible decision. Pros: Close to home Cons: Fake butter - yellow whipped substance more

Truly a very special place to eat, and enjoy a very nice evening. 11/3/2007

In July, my wife and I had traveled to Lake Wales to see the Bok sanctuary. Before returning back home to Summerville, South Carolina, my wife and I decided that we were going to stop and spend a quiet evening together in Orlando, Florida. Instead of getting off on International Drive, my wife and I made a wrong turn that put us on the Florida Turnpike, going towards Colonial Drive in Ocoee. She and I were both hungry and we just wanted to find someplace nice where we could relax and eat. After exiting the Florida Turnpike, we drove a little while longer. In driving, we came upon a sign directing us to an Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. Though we weren't in the mood for pizza, I couldn't stand to see my wife go any longer without eating. Though we entered through the pizzeria, we were rather politely greeted and escorted to the italian restaurant located on the other side of the restaurant. From our window, we could see what appeared to be a lake of some sort. While sitting down to a candlelight dinner, where everything seemed perfect, I enjoyed watching this raccoon come out from the bushes in search of food. When a car would come, he got out of the road. When the coast was clear, he came back out in search of more food. My wife and I had a great experience at this restaurant. Both the food and the service we felt was five-star quality. The food was well prepared, well presented by our waiter, and the price was reasonable for all that we got. She and I can hardly wait until our next trip to Orlando, so we can eat at this same restaurant once again. Enjoy what is certain to be a very pleasurable dining experience. (Note: While there, my wife taught me that it is customary for the man sitting at the head of the table to test-taste the wine that is delivered to the table first. This was something that I had never realized until we saw our waiter deliver a bottle of wine to the people sitting at the table next to us. That is truly awesome.) more

Average food, very expensive 2/9/2007

Pros: pizza was okay..far from good Cons: sauce was very runny. very expensive!!!!! $20 pizza $15 pasta -not woth it more

We eat in the formal dining room every Saturday nite! 9/22/2006

Nightly specials are fantastic! Always creative, taste great, varies daily, we have never been disappointed. The servers all know us and our favorite drinks show up at our table without us ordering. WE Pros: service, quality of food Cons: none, children enjoy pizzeria side better more

GREAT Italian Food 8/25/2006

My wife raves about the Escarole & Beans, I love the Penne alla Vodka, the kids love the pizza and calzone - our family has enjoyed Positano's for several years and are never disappointed. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. And, if you live nearby, they deliver - how can you beat that!!! Cons: The pizza side can get crowded if you don't arrive early more

Love it 11/17/2004

I have been going to Positano's in Apopka for years, atleast once a week. It is the best Italian, authentic food around. The pizza is awesome, something that you dont get too much of around here in the land of chain restaurants. The staff is very warm and cordial and make an attempt to get to know you. The owners are very accessible and are concerned with your dining experience. I highly recommend it. Pros: warm atmosphere, personal touch, GREAT food more

Positano 9/4/2003

We have been eating at 'Positano' since it opened. We have never had a meal that wasn't good. The Owner's (when there) always visit our table and ask how we enjoyed our meals. We usually eat in the Pizzeria and have had almost everything on the menu. On special occasions, we sit in the Restaurant Dining Room and have had very good experience eating there. Their specials are always different and good quality Pros: Good Food, Good Service, Family OK in Pizzeria Cons: Usually Crowded, Some Items Expensive more

great restaurant 8/9/2003

simply the best italian, pizza eatery I have ever been to. Pros: inexpensive, good atmosphere, great service Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a more

Casual or Classy You Choose 8/1/2003

Both sides of this restaurant are wonderful. You can get great pizza or pasta in the deli and enjoy the casual family atmosphere or you can enjoy an elegant evening of white linen and candlelight dining on the other side of the restaurant. Positano has never failed to offer a great dining experience our family. Try the sicilian pizza! Pros: Two dining areas, Great italian food Cons: Can be crowded more
