Known as a "dinner ship," take it for a ride down the Willamette River or Columbia River and enjoy the views of downtown Portland's skyline and beyond. Decks are temperature controlled, you'll enjoy full-service bars, and there's even live entertainment. Children are welcome and receive discounts on certain meals and cruises. Take a Ride Down the River 9/2/2005

The Portland Spirit is very nice and romantic. You can get on the boat and go down the river while having dinner. This is a great experience for you and your honey if you are wanting to do something different or a great time for a group to do together. Make sure you call in advance to see if they have an opening for the night you are wanting because they don't run everyday and sometimes they are booked way in advance. Or they might have a private party going on. The boats are extremely nice and the staff is too. Highly recommended! more

river cruise dining 8/31/2005

actually, it's not really that big a deal. mediocre food on a mediocre boat. the trip up and down the river is nice, and the best time to go is in warm weather, so maybe you can sit outside. but the boat itself is not exactly magnificent with the interior. anyhow, they have a full bar and live music (although the drinks are more expensive than in a club), but go ahead and give it a shot. PROS: a nice change of pace CONS: too much money for too little effort on their part more

Classy 7/25/2005

My husband and I had a very romantic evening on the Portland Spirit. It was nice to be able to dress up and have a night away from the kids in a romantic setting. I loved the atmosphere and was very impressed with the food they served. I also loved cruising up and down the river. I had such an amazing night with my husband that we will be going back! more

Enjoyable cruising 6/19/2005

This is a classy, fun evening out on the water. The cruise I took was around Christmastime, the dinner was very good, and the entertainment was great--beautiful to see the lights at night! more
