No longer on Preble Street !!! 6/3/2009

The Public Market on Preble Street has been closed for over two years !! There is a smaller Public Market on Congress St. in Portland across from the main library. They sell a variety of foods including breads, cheeses, and Greek food operated by the Spartan Grill folks. The cheese selection is phenomenal although a bit pricey. more

If you've been looking all over the state of Maine for a hip place to buy groceries or lunch, try the Portland Public Market. Everything's fresh! The bread, the produce, the seafood, the meat and the cakes and pies are all the best Portland has to offer. You can get lunch and dinner at the Market either from a vendor, the Stone Soup Cafe or the Commissary (which is an incredible restaurant!). Its a fun place to wander and pick up a few specialty items like fancy cheeses or blue potatoes or handmade sausages. The Portland Public Market is a delight for all your senses. See for yourself!
