This restaurant is a little slice of Italy away from Europe. The food is fantastic, and the service and atmosphere frenetic. Note that there's no bookings, so plan to have a drink nearby somewhere while you wait for a table. Pros: BYOB more

Love it or Hate it! 12/7/2002

There's no room for in-between reactions: a party of 10 takes up half the restaurant. Either you like being with a bunch of happy, animated, talking diners or you prefer more personal space and quiet. I suspect the latter's dismay at conditions affects their opinion of the food. Pros: Excellent food, Very reasonable, BYOB! Cons: Only 1 waitperson more

Awesome Italian! 8/28/2002

Coming from Berlin, Germany which has quite a variety of Italian restaurants at all standards, this one has certainly exceeded my expectations. Despite the fact that it could certainly use more room, the food was absolutely fabulous, from the starters right up to the dessert. Crazy Owner! 5/29/2002

I went to Porcini's for my birthday and we borught a few bottles of wine. There were 10 of us and we asked for a forth bottle to be opened. the owner told us no, we weren't allowed. I confronted the owner/host/waiter and he fought with me and my friends. We left and he chased us out on the street yelling at us! more
