Pooches' Playtime

They've been taking care of my dog for many years. They make space for her during busy holiday times if I need to board her. They've figured out creative ways to get her exercise without compromising her safety. She loves Pooches'! more

Jen and Molly are the biggest dog lovers I have ever met! I worked for them while I lived and SF and saw nothing but unconditional love from these two ladies toward their dogs and employees! What I learned from these ladies about how to run a dog care business in the short 5 months I worked for them, I was able to start my own successful dog business in the small town I moved to! I would trust Pooche's Playtime with my dog more than anyone else I know. more

This place is dog heaven. I have used other kennels before and my dog always comes home stressed out. It's different at Pooches' than other places because the dogs play all day and they don't have to be in a run by themselves. My dog is kind of hyper anyway so I was happy to find a place where he could interact with other dogs. The place is small and cozy and the staff are really sweet. My dog didn't want to leave and kept playing with his new friends. I just learned that they don't use any chemicals and that they drive hybrids for dog walking groups. That's cool. Our poodles Riley and Asher have been daycare clients at Pooches for 4 years - we highly recommend the skilled and caring staff...we have no worries when our boys are with the women at Pooches...the staff have a deep understanding of canine behavior and physical health and are generous about sharing their knowledge...our dogs run in happy circles when we tell them they are going to Pooches...the socialization and reinforcement of training they received these past 4 years have been invaluable...we've left the poodles at Pooches when we go out of the country and feel confident our dogs are loved and happy. Not to mention knowledgable. All the folks that run and own POOCHES make their business about the DOGS! That's why I have been taking my Lab, Georgia and now my Boxer Stella to POOCHES Day Care and Play Groups for many years. I trust them to care for the dogs and I know they are having fun because when they come home they are pooped! And when I get them in the car in the morning they want to go! I like that POOCHES is completely GREEN and does everything possible to make it a safe and clean enviroment. more

I don't know what the previous reviewer is complaining about - it is awesome to pick up a tired dog! I have left my dog with Pooches Playtime for overnight stays, day care and playgroups and I can't recommend them enough. The space is clean, well-maintained and the owners live right upstairs - so there is someone there for the animals 24 hours day. My dog usually whines in the car on the way home b/c she doesn't want to leave. They also have a separate area for little dogs, so they don't get mowed down by the big, bouncy guys, and an outdoor porch so the pooches can sun themselves. more

This was our dog's first time to be left in a kennel and when we picked him up, he just collapsed and slept the whole day. They didn't give him a bath like we requested. When we first went to interview, we were early and told that they were ""not ready"" for us yet so we had to wait outside. The place is an old house and I just didn't get that warm feel after we left... Pros: home like more
