Pooch & Kitty

Phyllis from Pooch & Kitty came to my home and fed my two cats over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I am very pleased with the care she provided. She is knowledgeable about cats and about the vet services in the Brooklyn Heights area, and came to meet me and the cats before my trip. Since my cats need to be separated when fed (otherwise one will eat everything in sight including the other cat's food!), we were concerned about the cats coming out to be fed while I was gone. Phyllis was kind enough to text me each day to let me know that the cats were coming out, being friendly, and cooperating with the plan. It really put my mind at ease! I will definitely be using Pooch & Kitty in the future, and wholeheartedly recommend their service! more

I moved to BH from NYC in June. Pooch & Kitty was my first call for a dog walker for my two mini poodles. Scott began walking them the following week. He called me the first day to let me know all went well and I have never worried about them since. He has gone above and beyond ""walking"" my girls on more than one occasion without being asked and I have told him he is too good to be true. A neighbor told me they seem happy with him and a stranger on the street told me they are better behaved with him than they are with me. Phyllis has given me advice on neighborhood Vet's and sends occasional informative emails on a variety of pet topics including local dog parks. I am 100% satisfied with the care my pets receive on a daily basis from Scott and with the utmost confidence recommend Pooch & Kitty. more

Phyllis and her friends are a great service. I have used them many times and will continue to do so. I can trust them in my house and with my pet. They make it easy to use the service--not fussy, knowledgeable, and they enjoy their work. You can be confident that everything will be taken care of. more

Serra was a wonderful cat sitter for my 4 cats! I contacted Phyllis after reading all the wonderful reviews and Phyllis immediately responded and put me in touch with Serra. I could not have been more pleased! Serra came over and met my cats. She was very knowledgable, communicative and so nice. Serra emailed me updates while I was away so I never had to worry. I felt that my cats were safe and loved. I will definitely call Serra anytime I go away. more

I recently switched from another service in Brooklyn Heights, and called Phyllis based on the reviews I saw. Not the fanciest website, but the fanciest website turned out to have mediocre service. I had a new ShihTzu Puppy and needed someone to come in for a visit or a walk during the day when I was at work. Phyllis really takes the time to care for babies just like you would. Our doorman referred her to us upon moving in. Everyone in my apt building uses Phyllis for their loved ones! My boys go crazy when they see her in the park or around the neighborhood walking other dogs... Pooch & Kitty is the best!! Of course you might have concerns giving people access to your home and loved ones but Pooch & Kitty is the best! Always reliable and trustworthy! I know that when I leave our dog Marvin with Phyllis or one of her crew he is in the best of hands. Everyone at Pooch and Kitty is responsible, kind and they take excellent care of their charges! Marvin has been cared for by Scott, Alise, Erica and Phyllis and he loves them all. Scott has been the perfect dogwalker. When I see him at the dog run my dog greets him and his dog happily, and Scott closely supervises the dogs he's walking throughout his time there. Scott even did some research into my dog's specific breed to recommend the proper diet! Pros: Caring, attentive, flexible Cons: None so far more

Upon meeting Phyllis, I got such a great feeling about her. I could tell she really cared for people's pets like her own. She is extremely knowledgeable about pet foods, pet health, and well-being. When I went on vacation, I felt completely confident that my cats were in great care. Phyllis sent me a few texts and pictures of my kitties, even with play updates ! I returned home to a neat litter box and bowls, and very happy pets. They seemed really at ease when I walked in the door, which tells me they were comfortable and happy in my absence. We can not say enough great things about Phyllis and her crew. Nothing but 100% professional and fun for your dog. I defy anyone to find a better cat sitter than Phyllis. She loves animals, is attuned to their personalities and needs, and is utterly responsible. When Phyllis has been caring for my two cats, I come back to find them happy and well cared for. Phyllis has also given me helpful suggestions about vets, diet, etc. I'll also add that I am totally at ease giving Phyllis access to my apartment. I was very lucky to find Pooch and Kitty on a recommendation from another good pet-sitting service. I couldn't fee more comfortable with leaving my two elderly cat and sometimes sick cats with Pooch & Kitty. Jada has been reliable and incredibly kind with them, going the extra mile when they got sick while I was gone, and Phyliss, Pooch & Kitty's owner, has been very generous in sharing her knowledge about feline nutrition and behavorial issues. I am so lucky to have found Phyllis. She really cares about the dogs she walks and she is extremely reliable and attentive. I think she is more than a dog walker, I like to think of her as a consultant! I wouldn't have anyone but Phyllis walk our dog. I am a frequent visitor to the local dog park & I've seen first hand how attentive she is- certainly more than most dog owners and absolutely way beyond any other dog walker. Most dog walkers spend the entire time they are walking dogs or visiting the dog park on their cell phones or blackberry's, or, worse still, smoking- leaving the dogs bored, unexercised, and ready to get into trouble. Not only does Phyllis never take her eyes off her dogs, she plays fetch or whatever game they enjoy, during the whole visit. I also know Phyllis follows to the T any requests from the owners, ie., she won't walk a dog w/ another unless the owner has given their permission, and even then only w/ a dog it gets along and plays well with. She is one of the most passionate animal lovers I have ever met and always goes the extra mile for their well being. As the owner of a terrible terrier who loves the dog park but who requires constant attention there- to curb all dirt & wood chip eating, as well as any other trouble he might get in to, Phyllis is the only person besides myself, including my husband, I trust to walk our dog.
