Went to this restaurant for Valentines day, have been there before and i'm surprised because: Food was nothing like what they show on line. The prices were way more than you would expect for this day. It seemed like everything was drenched in butter, just try and get a sever to come over, the attitude of the server was as if she was doing us a favor strolling over. They should of not change what was working all the years they have been there. Too bad it use to be a decent place to go to. more

This was my first time to Vespa, and I was excited to go after driving by it thousands of times. I found the menu to be short but terrific with a nice variety of options (from shell steak to lobster and black linguine to basic pasta dishes). The food itself was prepared well and was extremely flavorful, even a simple shrimp appetizer (that was a little small but the flavor made up for this). The bread was okay, though the crust was a little too crunchy, but the wine was good (decent wine list). \r \r It did however take a while for our waiter to come over and I had to ask for a wine menu. I found that people who looked like they could be our waiter would sort of walk by and look at our table but look away when I looked up at them (which I was doing to signal that we were ready to order). This happened at least twice. I think that one of the hosts may just have a nervous personality, which was why he had that look about him that another reviewer described. If they could somehow improve their service, I would go back. Otherwise, I'll probably skip it in favor of another place I have yet to try. Pros: Food, Wine, Ambience Cons: Parking, Service more

I love this quaint, little Italian restaurant. It's intimate setting is perfect for dates but is equally suited to family gatherings. The waitstaff make you feel like you're part of their family, especially the ever pleasant hostess. The decor and menu are fun without being kitschy and the food is consistently good. I expected more from Vespa based on the Zagat guide, but the whole experience was truly mediocre. One of my tests for a good Italian restaurant is the Caprese salad. In this case, the tomatoes were not very red or ripe, and the mozzarella was second rate. more

I went to to this place on two occasions, each time hoping for a better experience. Both times, however, I endured lazy service, old bread, overcooked pasta and sour wine w/my meal. The waiters there are not attentive and the manager/owner, unless he knows you, has ""I am doing you a favor"" face when, and if, he comes to your table. Amazingly, he is at your service in half a second when it's time to collect the check and throw you a pityfull ""ciao"" when you're done being ripped off. more

Great Place....Food is original, Service is very attentive, they make you feel like family. Decor is funky, cool, makes me feel like I am back in Rome. A great city feel, for a spot on Long Island...... Pros: Service, Winelist, Decor more
