The food is good, place is clean, the staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive.
I am a Senior. As such, I eat less at a single meal, and Ponderosa acknowledges this with reduced rates for numerous items.
Occasionally at dinner, I will choose salmon, chicken Monterey, or sirloin tips.
Most often I choose the Lunch Buffet, from 2-4 (the BEST DEAL for the Budget) which provides appetizers such as wings, Swedish meatballs, and Build your own Nachos where this buffet leaves NOTHING out as you pile the goodies high. Careful not to go overboard here though, because Salads abound, there's potato (my fav is Baked Potato salad), Mac, Cesar, Mixed greens, Romaine, iceberg, and all the fixing’s.
The soups, 2-3 choices, are good too. The chicken is always moist & delicious, meatloaf & gravy is typical diner food, and Pasta dishes change all the time, except for the Mac & Cheese, There's jello, pudding, fruit salad, & fresh fruit.
Finally, if you have behaved yourself up to this point, there's Dessert. Vanilla & Chocolate soft serve, with endless toppings or accompaniments such as Hot Apple Crisp, Hot Bread Pudding, Peach Cobbler, brownies, macaroons, cupcakes, and on & on.
You won't go home hungry, but you may leave disappointed because you ate too much to enjoy the WONDERFUL desserts.
Here's my tip for you - eat dessert first... or after your salad. That way you won't miss out. It may take a few trips to design a plan that works for you, but at under $5 a try, you'll perfect it in no time.
