Excellent food! 7/6/2011

Excellent food and service-Rack of Lamb, Mussels, Trout Amandine and many other dishes. Very good wine and beer list (of course-this is a Belgian and french Restaurant.) Great outdoor dining. The almond cake drenched in creme Anglais is wonderful when they have it. I have eaten there alone, with my wife, mu children\, my best friends and have always enjoyed it. more

great food 7/5/2011

My wife and I have been eating here for years. I love the ambience of the restaurant. It is very cozy and the patio is great for people watching. The music is nice to listen to - makes us feel like were in Belgium. The food is consistant and service is good and welcoming. I suggest the Molles (Mussels) and the authentic Pommes Frites (French Fries). None finer. more

Incredible food. 6/22/2011

The escragot were flavorful and tender--some of the best I have every had. more

favorite spot 6/15/2011

This is my favorite spot in Palm Springs. As a Belgian, I'm always happy to get my traditional vol-au-vent and for dessert the succulent crme-brle au Grand-Marnier! I highly recommend this bistro to anyone telling me they're going to visit Palm Springs! more

Amazing host, and even better food 6/9/2011

lovely ambiance with a gracious host. the menu and service superb, would recommend again and again! more

Excuisite 6/6/2011

A great place to enjoy Belgian cuisine. The menu is simple but offering enough variety to satisfy everyone's palate. The owner, known as "Doc" to his closest friends, has spent many years perfecting his tasty dishes and uses only the finest ingredients. There are several mussel selections and all are magnificent. The food and wine pairings recommended are excellent as well and another reason why patrons keep coming back time and time again. more

nice location and amazing food 6/2/2011

Wonderful food and service with a front row seat to the passersby on Palm Springs main street. A great place to go for any night out or a special occasion. Food to be savored and really enjoyed. Good wine list. And, save room for dessert and hope that Jean Claude is making his almond cake with creme Anglaise. more

Yummy 5/31/2011

It is an unforgettable cafe experience right on famous Palm Canyon in downtown Palm Springs. The menu is offers you constant delights to the palette. The food and service is exceptional. It is not to be missed when visiting Palm Springs. more

Excellent food and great service at all times 5/26/2011

Great sidewalk, bistro style, restaurant in the heart of downtown Palm Sprilngs. Each time there I feel as though I'm in a quaint little restaurant on a popular boulevard somewhere in France. The food is always excellent, with specialties of the steamed mussels as the owner brings his Belgian upbringing to the desert. The rack of lamb and seafood dishes are always prepared perfectly and the ambiance is strictly casual bistro and relaxing. more

Love this place! 5/25/2011

Love this place for the ambiance of downtown old Palm Springs, sitting outside watching the palm trees, people walking by and local color. The "mussels from Brussels" can't be beat, they are always fresh. And the frisee salad is the best I've had with the perfectly poached egg and crisp pancetta. When it's hot out my favorite is the crab salad. All entrees are good, especially the braised short ribs and the salmon. One of our local favorites more

Big Fan 5/23/2011

I have been going to this restaurant for years - primarily for the mussels Provencal Style and I love their La Petit salad too! It's different from a lot of places in Palm Springs, it's a Bistro and tables are close, service is quick and efficient- the wine list is great! I am a fan of Rhone wines and I love the selection. Wines are opened prior to reaching your table - mainly because of this bistro style of dining. It's in a great location on Palm Canyon for people watching. more

Highly Recommend 5/16/2011

"I must confess with some shame that I have lived on the desert for nearly 7 years, and have never tried Pomme Fritte until a couple of weeks ago. Boy have I missed a lot. This small intimate venue is everything a bistro should be. Warm, great unobtrusive service. Wonderful straighfoward Cusine. Owner Jean Claude is always on Gandhi greet his guests. The space is warm, and unpretenous. I have tried the steak w/ pomme fritte. Amazing. The steak was perfect size. The fries were made by the hand of god. A simple salad was served alongside. For desert I had floating islands. An old school desert but a welcome ok'd friend I would highly recommend Pomme Fritte to anyone. It is my new favorite eatery" more

They were so flavorful!! 5/11/2011

They brought us this yummy bread with herb butter to start. I ordered the split pea soup that was yummy with tons of ham in it and a nice thick broth. Hub got the mussels in white wine sauce and fries and it was in a huge bowl they brought out. They were so flavorful!! Fries were pretty good as well. I had the braised Coq au Vin in red wine sauce and mushrooms. It was the BEST!!! Tons of chicken and I could not get enough of red wine broth. I also got fries with it and they were good. more

Love their French Food 5/10/2011

Great Experience 5/4/2011

Great French meal! We had a great experience there! You can sit outside or inside and we sat outside for some people watching. more

It was good 5/3/2011

We've been coming to this restaurant for years and it never disappoints. During our last visit, it was for a late lunch. I ordered the mussels, Provencal style. It was good but I think the Mariniere is better. My partner ordered the meatballs and it was FRICKIN' good!!!!!...yes, I had food order envy. Our dining companion ordered the quiche Lorraine and he kept remarking how good it was (I didn't reach over to taste it but I've had it before so I know how it is). more

The waiter was very attentive and friendly 4/26/2011

Decided to go for lunch on my own today and had noticed Pomme Frite many times so decided to try it, the menu looked delicious. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, great service tLhroughout the whole meal. I've worked in the restaurant industry for half my life and was a chef for many of those years. I like to think I know alittle bit about good food and good service. I ordered a simple cranberry vodka first, then the baked onion soup and finally the Coq au Vin. All was absolutely delicious and delivered in a timely and very friendly manner. I will definitely be back with my parents and husband. Thank you for such a lovely meal. more
