I am a picky eater and I am very pleased with the chicken sandwich they offer on Texas Toast and I am also a big fan of the green bean casserole. I have even used their catering food for Thanksgiving. Delicious meal and nice folks working there. Pros: Great food, nice place Cons: everyone charges too much for soft drinks these days more

Can anybody say FRIED OKRA? 5/30/2003

If you truly love bar-b-que and you are from the south...you've gotta love Pok-E-Jo's crispy fried okra. Talk about mouth watering. I used to get an order before my games at the original Pok-E-Jo's by Balcones Little League. I grew up, and now I can't get enough of their homemade sausage and their brisket. They even bottle their own sauce now! Add to that their baked potato casserole, banana pudding, and cobblers, and...wow....I sure am hungry now...gotta run. See you at Pok-E-Jo's. Hard to find, but worth the search 7/28/2002

Of all the Pok-e-jo's in town, the 5th street store is the least accessable but well worth the time to visit It is also the better ot the 4 soon to be 5 stores in town. The rustic atmosphere is more of an old time BBQ house than the others, and no one, not even the compitetion can offer the choice of the indoor or outdoor party facilities. Where else can your group eat great bbq and play volleyball. It is fantastic, and the two managers, Sam and 'Big E' make it like a stage production..these guys are FUNNY !! Pros: Great food, terriffic staff, fun place to eat Cons: limited parking, on a one way street, needs a playscape more
