About 1 year ago I went into PB to open a Savings and Checking account. I filled out all the forms then Irene, the PB rep, took them in the back for about 30 minutes. When she came back she said, ""There is a problem with your Social Security number."" This got me concerned I asked ""What is the problem?"" All she would say is, ""I can't tell you!"" Then she asked all sorts of weird questions about me being a US citizen. I thought maybe that my identity had been stolen and this was just the first time I was hearing about it. After inquiring several times with no good responses, I asked to talk with the manager. I waited for another 30 minutes and Irene came back out not the manager, ""The name is different"" is all she would say. I left having wasted about 2 hours!
The next morning I went into a Social Security Administration office with lots of documentation to verify my identity. I spent an hour waiting and then I validated my SS number and name was correct. WTF?
I don't usually say this unless I I think it is true, but... Point Breeze Credit Union is racist. That is the only reason they would not let me open an account! At least I am glad I learned they are racist and incompetent before I let them handle my money!
