GREAT antique store! 10/15/2011

While on vacation in the Poconos, my husband and I were looking for antique stores with quality antiques. We found that at Pocono Peddler's Village! \r \r With the new management in place, the village is well maintained, clean and organized so everything is easy to look at without having to dig through clutter. This is important when you're looking for certain collectables and items of interest. \r \r We leisurly strolled through the 3 buildings and found several items of interest to both of us and didn't spend a whole lot of money in the process. \r \r The help was courteous and were easily available to assist when needed. An easy way to get help when necessary are the call buttons installed down major aisles which was a plus.\r \r If we return to the Poconos, this will be on our to-do list of places to check out. more

Disapointing Waste of Time 10/12/2011

I visited the Pocono Peddler with my family. I found it to be very expensive. Just regular vintage things nothing spectacular, no high end antiques, nothing unusual just ordinary things you can find on internet auctions for so much less. Looked like garage sale finds marked up 80% more than what they paid. The place is small too. more

Change for the better 3/30/2011

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Pocono Peddler's Village today. We went in spite of a previous rather damming review. The experience we had was a complete reversal. It appears that there is new management in place. Our experience was definitely positive. It took us more than two hours to complete the walk through of the establishment. There were vendors on hand to demonstrate, explain, and help us with the questions of the items that interested us. They were courteous and hospitable. A real antique hound could get lost in the store. Bring a good pair of walking shoes. All in all a very positive experience! more

The reviews are correct 11/5/2009

After reading the reviews posted here i thought i would give this place a try anyway. The reviews are correct. This place is very poorly run by a bunch of wacko's. I have never been so offended in a store by the management? The front counter is run by crazies. When i arrived i had to walk past the checkout counter and was amazed at the bickering going on. I made my way to the back of the 1st building and could still hear the yelling and fighting. I spent about an hour walking thru the 3 buildings loaded with wonderful antiques of every kind. As i made my way back up front with my items i could still hear the yelling and cursing. This time it was a different person fighting with the front counter help. I stood in front of the cash register with my items for 5 minutes waiting for the insanity to end so i could pay and get out before the shooting started. After another 5 minutes the person fighting with the counter help left and i thought at last i can pay and get out. Was i ever wrong. The 3 people working behind the counter spent the next 5 minutes bickering with each other.I ended up walking out the front door without buying the items i wanted. No one ever asked if i needed help or was ready to pay. \r The owner of this place needs to take a look at whats going on here.\r Pros: FREE ENTERTAINMENT AT FRONT COUNTER!!!! Cons: crazyness at checkout counter more

Excellent Bargains! Great Atmosphere! 10/27/2009

I am an antique dealer from the North Carolina area. I take a trip north every Autumn to buy, and I always put Pocono Peddlers Village very high on my list of stops. I have been shopping there for several years, and have never left with fewer than 20 items! As far as selection, they provide a large range of items, from furniture to glassware and everything in between. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is helpful. I would make an effort to check this place out if you are in the area. Pros: Good Prices, Great Selection more

Great Place to Meander and Enjoy! 10/23/2009

We were on vacation and my husband (who doesn't enjoy shopping to say the least) offered to take me to this mall! I was so excited! The place did NOT dissappoint us! Lots of old vintage items and the prices were really good! As I browsed and picked up three items a nice women came to me and offered to place the items by the checkout! What an angel! I wish we would have had more time! Then again we probably could have gone around the whole place several times and each time saw something we didn't catch the first time! We had a great time and we would recommend this store to anyone and everyone! Wish we lived closer! They even wrapped the items with care! Everyone could not have been nicer! Thanks so much! Pros: Plenty of old treasures! Cons: Drawbacks? None! more

Great Pit Stop! 10/14/2009

I was in the area this past Holiday weekend and stopped by the Antique Mall. It was my first time there and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasently surprised by all the items and antiques they had to offer. I would recommend checking this place out to any of my friends and it was sure worth the pit-stop! Pros: Large selection on Antiques more

ungrateful management 9/8/2009

Really enjoy hearing management at the front counter talk trash about thier dealers. If it was not for all your dealers what fast food place would you be working at? Can you say super size that? Feel bad for the poor dealer who had the nerve to paint her booth a color you do not approve of. Just shut up and pack my items! Pros: great deals Cons: the front counter more

A Great Find... 6/30/2009

Just recently was traveling along Route 611 and found a wonderful place full of many surprises, including a great selection of outdoor furniture, playsets and sheds for the kids...one of which was purchased. \r \r The other 'finds' throughout village was a great find for my wife, not to mention my two daughters, who seemed to fill the car and empty my wallet...we all had a great experience and hope when in the area, you take the time to check it out. Pros: Great Selection and many surprises Cons: nothing more

One of the Poconos best kept Secrets 6/30/2009

Peddlers village is the epitome of old town bizarre shopping with a wonderful blend of contemporary merchandise. I have been stopping in there for many years now when I venture over to the Pocono region for hiatus. It is simply a fun place to stop. The kids enjoy it, my wife always seems to walk out carrying way too much stuff but , she's happy and that makes me happy. I have run into the owner on several occasions. He is very hands on. Nice fella. What impressed me the most is he remembers our names time after time. The place is a jewel!! Pros: Tremendous variety and really nice people Cons: Too far for me to come too regularly more

My favorite place for antiques! 6/29/2009

I have been a frequent shopper at Peddlers Village Antique Mall for many years and I have never had a bad experience! The place is very big with lots to look at, and great antiques, I always walk out with something. As for the people, I have never found them to be anything but helpful! They are very knowledgeable and if they didn't carry something I was looking for they even suggested some other places I might want to check out. I have never found anyone there to be pushy or rude and I have been there on weekends and weekdays, doesn't matter! If you're in the Poconos I would strongely recommend checking them out! Pros: Great finds! Great prices! more

cool antiques / mean nasty management 6/23/2009

Hate to see a buisness that a good man spent 20 years building ruined in a few short years by his lazy kids. This place is still family run but going down hill fast. At the front counter you will see the manager running around like fool barking orders and insulting customers. The worst part is watching the abuse this queen bee dishes out to her poor old mother. Why this women puts up with it i will never understand. Instead of abusing your mother and your customers maybe you could pick up a broom or empty one of the overflowing trash cans.\r Don't know what ever happened to the customer is always right. Here the customer is always wrong. No matter what the subject you are wrong and she is right. I have collected carnival glass for over 20 years and had a very nice piece i wanted to buy. I brought my bowl up to the counter to pay and was told by the manager i was paying to much and she could give me a much better price on one of her bowls. She then tried to sell me a newer repro for a few $ less then the antique bowl i wanted to buy. When i said i liked what i had i was told i don't know what i'm talking about and should buy a book on the subject. Needless to say i just left without the bowl i wanted. \r It really is a shame because this place is loaded with great buys and you can spend hours looking at all the treasures.\r I will continue to shop here but only on tuesday and wednesday when the front counter is run by a very nice and helpfull women. Pros: great bargins even better prices Cons: front counter help needs mental help more

My favorite Antique Experience 4/27/2009

This emporium is filled with something for everyone. I have visited on two occasions, walked out with ""treasures"" both times after spending at least 3 hours of browsing. The clientele do not bother you and do assist in setting your purchases aside so you can shop hands free. The bathrooms are clean, so I do not understand the negative comments left earlier. I never witnessed any bickering by anyone and I always enjoy the experience and look forward to my next visit. My trip to this shop is about one hour and it is worth it. Pros: Great Inventory, Great Prices Cons: Can't get there as often as I would like. more

A treasure trove. . .if you take a look 8/8/2008

I have found some fabulous furniture and table lamps at this cooperative. The customer service is excellent. . .they wrapped and loaded up the treasures I had found. Thus far I have visited their store three times and plan on going back periodically. The prices for the most part are very very reasonable! Pros: Fabulous finds Cons: No AC more

Peddlers antique mall 7/17/2008

My husband and I recently browsed through the peddlers antique mall and we had a great time exploring all the ""treasures"" that they had on display. We almost didn't go because of the two reviews posted. The staff was pleasant and helpful, they took the pieces we picked out to buy and brought them up front so we didn't have to carry them around with us. They were there if we had a question but didn't hover around so we felt free to browse at our own pace. The ""treasures"" they had on display brought back memories from our childhood which made our shopping experience very enjoyable. We would recommend the peddlers antique mall and are looking foward to going again the next time we are in the poconos. Pros: wide variety Cons: some areas tight to get through more

I'll never go back here again... 11/25/2007

More junk than antiques...rude crazy people working here...gross bathrooms. Sign says open from 9:00 to 5:00. I waited over 30 minutes before someone finally came and opened the door. If you like antiques, find someplace else to shop. more

Antiques and freaks!! 9/13/2006

They call it an ""antique mall"" - at first glance it looks like just another flea market. Some booths have collectibles and a few actually have some antiques. You may find some nice rustic benches, crocks and country items. Too many spaces spaces, though, are filled with junk from someone else's yard sale. But it's worth the trip (only an hour and 45 minutes from Broadway!) just for the experience at the check-out counter! A ragtag collection of social misfits and bickering family members combine to put on a show worthy of an HBO sitcom! If they manage to stop the fighting long enough, they may actually get your purchase rung up and wrapped before you get disgusted and leave! more
