Built in 1844, Plum Grove was the home of Iowa's first territorial Governor, Robert Lucas. Maintained in the style of the day, this home is a wonderful step back in time to a place in which our first Governor lived. Elegant at the time, the quiet beauty of the time is evident here in the furnishings, artifacts and accessories the museum curators have chosen to display.
History is alive here for viewers of all ages and the mere viewing of this home gives one a real feel for that which was important in the life of Governor Robert Lucas and his family.
