I've been eating about twice a month at this place for almost 16 yrs. The service & food used to be ok. The waitresses were friendly, service was fast, food was usually hot. Today was the absolute worst restaurant experience I've ever had. My aunt and I waited 25 minutes for a breakfast that finally arrived cold. It took 25 minutes because I ordered french toast & french toast takes a long time. We wondered what method Plum Crazy uses to make french toast because well, we're older women & we've made a lot of french toast in our lives. We commented to each other that our waitress was rude and just a little nasty in her attitude. The off-duty Plum Crazy employees seated next to us apparently told her what we said because as they finished their breakfast & left, they stopped to speak with her. (Notice, they were seated after us & were finished before our breakfast arrived.) Upon serving us, our waitress asked if there was a problem because ""I hear you're calling me names."" Yes. She actually said that. I took 2 bites & having lost my appetite because of this ridiculous 18 yr. old waitress, and the fact that everything, even the 25-minute french toast, was cold, we left. We asked to pay the manager. Our waitress ""Becky"" said oh the manager knows all about you. Yes, the manager did know about the troublesome old women. She said you didn't wait 25 minutes, you only waited 15. And you ordered french toast. And we're busy. Yes. The manager actually said that. A professional manager would have said I'm so sorry you waited so long, I'll speak to your waitress. Please come back again. We would have been okay with that, even knowing that she really wouldn't do it. But no, this very unprofessional young woman manager, pretty much said just pay and get out, as the young waitress stood by her side & smiled. I think they may have been related. You know, there were people sitting near us who agreed that with all these young rude kids working here now, this place is going to be left with only young kids as customers. Young kids who order cheap & don't tip well because they can't afford to. I don't know what's happened to this place, but I'll never set foot in there again. They not only lost the 2 of us, but I will tell everyone at every opportunity how this diner has changed. Just keep on going up the road to the new IHOP, or Denny's. At IHOP the manager goes round to every table & asks if you enjoyed your breakfast. And the food is better.
