Don't be fooled 5/22/2011

The picture does not show the rest of the building to the left. If it did, you would see red letters indicating there is a gas station also in the building. The hotel is acutally the second floor of that gas station and the restaurant that you can see labled on the right side of the picture. The previous review states the hotel is near a truck stop. The first floor of the hotel is actually that truck stop. The parking lot is full of trucks. My husband and I were very upset when we arrived here with our four year old daughter. We immediately cancelled our reservation due to the obvious safety concerns and went elsewhere. We were very pleased to find a much nicer hotel located nearby for a much cheaper rate. more

Diamond in the Rough!! 5/17/2010

The stay was truly amazing. At first I was skeptical as it was near a truck stop but once I walked through the hallways and saw the rooms, I was truly surprised. The price was relatively low compared to the surrounding hotels but it felt as if I were staying at a 5 star hotel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were big and clean. They have a restaurant downstairs also which serves up really good home cooked meals. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the La Porte area. Pros: Big Rooms, Great Beds, Great Staff Cons: Near a truck stop more
