After being a customer for a little over 2 years Platte-Clay Electric Co-Op sent me a bill for $601.12. They explained to me that I was being punished for using a service called ""Average Payment Plan"". When I signed up I was attempting to make my electric bill more reasonable and not to be slapped in the face with an outrageous bill. I pay my bills electronically, on time, and every month. Their customer service is too stupid to understand this concept and forced me to pay $601.12 or face a collection agency. DO NOT do business with these people. Kansas City Power & Light covers the same area as Platte-Clay Electric Co-Op and KCP&L has lower rates. Save money every month and avoid paying an outrageous penalty after you move and have to cancel your service.
