I went in today at about 7:20pm to browse around. The minute I walked in to the store, I was shortly stopped by one of the workers, who practically screamed at me that the store closes early on Mondays, and that I had to leave. Practically the whole store was staring at me (about 10 people), and I just stood there. It was so embarrassing and uncomfortable. If the store really does close at 7, they should have locked the doors, or had a closed sign. Even besides that, their customer service has always been spotty and not friendly. I will not come back to this store. more

Hard Sell 11/10/2008

I took a lot of nice clothes and shoes with tags still on! Shoes I'd worn once and they were too big, etc - a lot of really cute stuff, and they wouldn't take it. They said it was too old, but I hadn't had any of it for over a year and it was all in perfect condition. I found a lot of really worn out clothes, stuff with holes and stains, super ugly things, crap in general. I have no idea what they are looking for or what they buy. Plato's Closet is one of the best consignment shops around. While they advertise themselves as sellers of gently-used teen clothing, their selection is broad enough to cover adults with both classic and trendy clothing tastes. Besides finding a great pair of jeans at Plato's Closet, I've picked up timeless handbags and adorable shoes.They go through inventory so quickly that I strongly recommend visiting this shop often to get the best selection and best deals. If you want to sell items to them, make sure it is in good shape, brand name (Jcrew to Target's Merona), and no more than a few seasons old. more
