It is with great disappointment that I have to sit down and write this. My husband and I purchased a home with Ryland and made the decision to give our business to Platinum Home Mortgage with the expectation of a seamless and pain free process. We have endured just the opposite. Working with Mike Dote, Jeff Baldwin and James Purpura has been quite frankly the worst experience of my life. From the lack of communication to the unreturned phone calls and emails, these gentlemen have ruined what was supposed to have been a very exciting event in our life, closing on our new home. For months our closing date has been set and just days before (literally 2 days before) we are told we are not closing when scheduled. And, we still don’t even have a set closing date! And, why...we have no idea? We have done everything that has been asked of us. We have sent in every document that has been requested. This delay affects us in so many ways. From the movers that were scheduled, to the trucks, to the furniture that was being delivered, to the utilities that were being turned on to our child care that we arranged for closing day to the friends and family that were helping us move. Not to mention our work schedules and our attorney's schedule. How could this happen? Who is held accountable for this? Mike Dote certainly doesn't take any time to call us and explain the delay or even show any empathy. James Purpura doesn’t even return my phone calls or emails when I have valid questions that I would like answers to. I could go on and on, but for what? My concerns seem to be of no worry to any one of the gentlemen working on our loan. I only hope this letter makes it to someone who will care. Someone who will find out what went wrong and make it right. If not for us, for the next person or family who makes the decision to trust in Platinum Home Mortgage.
