Sexist and Misleading 7/5/2010

This place reeks of overstuffed, inflated egos and ""MEN ONLY"" mentality. Just review their website and anyone with enough sense will notice that the ""Men Only"" tab highlights their weight room (a unisex environment in most gyms, however, mostly populated by men not OVERTLY proclaimed a MEN ONLY area). Excuse me, but I happen to lift weights as a woman, and I'm not bodybuilder but I am just as serious as some men. \r They do this on the tour.... they will lead you by the weight room, but because I was a woman, they said \r ""This area has everything our men want.... this is where most of the men hang out"" and they never took me further than that. Insulting. But that's how the facility functions and these examples only scratch the surface of what really goes on behind closed doors. \r The ""fitness experts"" here, they are so misinformed and uneducated. There are much better, more savvy and down-to-earth fitness centers here in Tulsa. If you want the meathead, hothead, macho, turn-your-nose-up-at-anyone-who's-remotely-out-of-shape...by all means join the Platinum Center. If that's not for you, look elsewhere, where your money goes MUCH further and so does your self-confidence. \r P.S. read the contract VERY carefully or you'll sign your life away for a pretty penny! Pros: Nothing good here more

This gym has apparently changed names or goes by variations of the name. I belong to a gym at 4808 S 109th East Ave, Tulsa that goes by The Platinum Center. I don't recommend them. The facilities are good, but the gym has a horrible membership contract where you can easily sign up, but it's extremely difficult to cancel the membership even after you've completed the two year membership. It's easy to miss the window to cancel. The contract has 12 month self renewing clauses. They won't end the contract and they keep charging money to your credit card even after you've completed the two year contract. I ended up paying several hundred dollars extra that I did not expect. I don't recommend joining this gym. It's not worth the contract. This gym uses ABC Financial for collection of payments. It would be worth your time to use your search engine read the reviews on it also. Pros: Nothing that outweighs the cons Cons: Horrible membership contract more

Best Gym in Tulsa 10/7/2008

I used to belong to Sky Fitness and moved over to Gold's when it opened. Much larger (less bumping into people while trying to work out) and not as ""stuffy"" as Sky. All brand new, state of the art equipment, a cardio theatre playing awesome movies, an incredible dark spinning room and a ladies weight room with no men allowed. All that, and a pool! Cant beat it. Much less expensive than Sky, too! Pros: cardio theatre, seperate womans gym, pool, new equipment, large area, low price, not crowded, no contracts and I can use any Gold's in the US Cons: havent found one. more
