Very enjoyable experience with Platinum Auto Haus 11/29/2011

I had a very enjoyable experience purchasing a 2005 Toyota Prius from Platinum Auto Haus in Redondo Beach (in the South Bay).\r \r They advertised the least expensive car at Cars dot com with the year, model, and mileage that I wanted. I negotiated a deal over the phone with the manager of Platinum Auto Haus, Alex Sarmast. Our agreement included $500 off the asking price, and allowed me to have the dealer inspect the car. Alex Sarmast signed our pre-purchase agreement, and the next day he delivered the car to the dealer where it passed the inspection.\r \r Three days (and only 20 miles) later, the engine warning light came on. I had to spend $350 to replace the coolant control valve. Alex Sarmast honored the 30 day warranty, and reimbursed me for that expense (minus a small deductible).\r \r If you have a low tolerance for b.s., then I highly recommend Platinum Auto Haus in Redondo Beach (in the South Bay).\r more

Great Company 11/11/2011

I found this company on the internet. I was purchasing this car from Montana and was looking for a Maserati. I tried several dealers throughout the Western United States and found the car I was looking for at this dealer. The car was amazing and ALEX was great. I was a bit hesitant buying a car so far from home. The car was missing the second key and so they included it with the car. They did everything they said they would do and shipped the car to me as agreed. It was a great experience and I would recommend this company to anyone. more

Try NICKEL...this place is anything BUT platinum! AVOID!!!!!! 2/4/2008

This is a public service announcement.\r \r You call this a business?!! This place is anything BUT a business. Out of state purchase was made on a car here. At first it seemed to be a smooth transaction. Navigation CD was missing but buyer was promised it would be ordered the next business day following the purchase. It has now been several weeks and no CD has been ordered yet. This place has ZERO customer service skills. \r \r Buyer was charged CA sales tax on out of state purchase. Everyone except the owner seemed to know that you're not supposed to charge CA sales tax on an out of state purchase. Owner took no steps to resolve this issue, in fact the buyer had to do all the research on this issue and provide info to the owner! UNBELIEVABLE! What's more, after the case was made the owner wouldn't even refund the overpayment!!! Is this legal? I don't know about you but in my book it's not.\r \r The ridiculousness does not stop here. Buyer tried to register car in home state 3 weeks after purchase. Apparently the dealership was supposed to provide the title to buyer. When buyer contacted owner about this, owner accused him of making this up!!! Eventually buyer had to arrange conference call between home state DMV and owner to prove he wasn't ""making this up""! Thankfully DMV rep informed owner of his ignorance. Owner then told buyer he has up to 90 days to send the title. HUH?! Temp tags expire in 90 days so this will leave buyer with no time to register the car. UNBELIEVABLE! \r \r When confronted about supposedly ordered navigation CD, they said they won't order it until the purchase check cleared. CHECK CLEARED LAST MONTH and yet no CD has been ordered! The lies coming out of this clown house are without end. \r \r Avoid doing any business with this facility or its associates. The owner will do everything possible to make buyers regret their purchases! If system didn't require me to pick a star, they'd get 0 stars. Customer service skills: F- Pros: High end cars that are less expensive than at a real dealership Cons: Owner antagonizes customers, purchase becomes nightmare transaction, customers are lied to, etc. more
