This 400 plus acre park is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. There are greenhouses, formal gardens, and many paths to explore. You can take a tour of the mansion on the property. You can bring a blanket and have a picnic on the great lawn. There is lots to see and a lot of walking (if you want to see it all). There is large rose garden in bloom in early summer. You will probably spend many hours here and will visit many times. more

Nature Calls 8/17/2005

Planting Fields is a beautiful park, 160 acres of ornamental trees (some are gigantic!) and shrubs. There are two giant greenhouses, one devoted to camellias, the other to orchids, ferns, begonias and bromeliads. You can visit Coe hall, which is filled with antiques guaranteed to make you jealous. Planting Fields is a nice place just to hang out. Concert series are also available. more
