Plan 9 New & Used Music

Plan 9 is a fun place just to go and look through what they have available. They sell new and used CD's and DVD's. It is a good place to sell your old music and movies if you don't want to go to the trouble of having a yard sale. You won't get alot of money for them but they will be out of your house. Plan 9 has listening stations where you can try before you buy. more

I love this place so much! It is a very nice store with great prices! They sell new and used music CDs, records, viedos, and movies. The people are very cool. The selection is outstanding. Plan 9 is a great resource for music in downtown Richmond. They offer new and used CDs, and if you buy a lot of music (like I do), you know the value of buying used CDs as often as you can! The quality of their used CDs and DVDs is very high, so you don't have to worry about scratches or cracks rendering the discs unplayable. I know they buy back CDs as well, but I don't know how much they take or what they pay since I've never tried to sell anything to them. My only complaint is that the store is a bit cramped, but that's just old age talking =) Plan 9 has great ambiance and a wide variety of music for all tastes, from hip hop to oldies. If you're looking for an alternative to high dollar music stores, why not give them a try? more

Plan 9 is a store that you could spend hours in. They carry a wide variety of new and used cds,records,and dvds, as well as tshirts and other items.You can find local music here, and just stuff you are not going to find anywhere else.They will also order you something if they do not carry it.You can turn in your used cds for store credit.You can also listen to any cd in the store.It is a relaxing place to spend an afternoon in. more

When visiting Plan 9 Music Store in Carytown, one can't help but think about the movie High Fidelity. As Jack Black personified, the employees here are quick to voice their opinions and make you feel unwelcome. Additionally, the prices here are outrageous, even for a used CD. I know we're supposed to support our local music stores, but come on. On a positive note, their selection can't be beat. more

And then there’s the extensive collection of used CDs and DVDs at a fraction of first-time retail prices, as well as a whole basement filled with new and used records to put your turntable back to use. Many records are only a $1. A fixture on the Richmond music scene for more than twenty years, Plan 9 also actively promotes local artists, often with free in-store concerts. It’s also about the only store in Carytown open after 8pm on weekdays more

Plan 9 is AMAZING. They have used Cds, vinyl, and even tapes. Their downtown location is the best. Many famous singers and band members have been known to shop here. The store also sells magazines, DVDs, t-shirts, and concert tickets. Since they renovated and added the basement downstairs, the place is jumping with tons of awesome records, and a huge selection of used Cds at GREAT prices. I make it a point to go here whenever I'm in Richmond because I always find something I know I can't find anywhere else. Plan 9 is probably the best record store on the east coast! more
