I have been eating Pizzarito for the full (almost) 30 years it has been open. I have always thought it was the best pizza in the area. While I have tried others, they don't compare. No even a close second. Keep up the great work there! more

The Real Deal 2/19/2009

Spent the first 40 years of my life in New York City. Moved here in 2003. Not only would Pizzarito be perfectly at home on any corner in Manhattan, Brooklyn or the Bronx, it is the only pizza in Los Angeles that I will eat. Every single person I have brought there or recommended it to has raved about it. This place makes all the ""NY Pizza"" places in LA seem like frozen overthought imitation. If you want a REAL slice, good and simple, you should check this place out. Also, the Sicilian is as good as any I've ever had - anywhere. Need a pizza fix? Pizzarito is a tasty choice for a good price. You can get a slice, you don't have to get a whole pie. Pros: Good pizza - not great, Can get an affordable slice more

Great slice, but what's with the soda refills? 10/26/2005

I have to reluctantly admit this is the best slice on the westside of LA. They get that the secret weapon of a slice is the sauce! Why reluctantly? First, these slices are overpriced. But let's just say you'll pay extra for the best slice in the area. The real issue: the guy who runs this place is a hard-headed New Yorker who has all the charm of an MTA cop. Not sure who he treats worse: his employees or his cutomers? My advice to him: if you're going to put the soda machine out in the dining area, lose the $0.25 charge for a refill--it's just bad business to chew out your customers for assuming that your place is like every other place that gives free refills. If you need the money that badly, I'd be happy to pay the $0.25 up front just to avoid getting your lip. more
