The Best Pizza on Earth! 6/30/2010

This Farmington Hills location is now closed, but they have other locations throughout the Metro Detroit area, and I believe there is also one in Toledo, OH. When I first went to Pizza Papalis, I looked at the menu and thought people had to be crazy to spend $15 on a small pizza. I actually left and refused to support a place that would charge that much for a pizza (I now know that a small pizza at Pizza Papalis actually feeds 2-3 adults). One day I finally gave in and ordered this pizza, and it is the best pizza I have ever had in my life. I am VERY familiar with pizza. I have eaten at Genos East, Lou Malnatis, Giordanos, Unos, and all the great Chicago pizza places, and Pizza Papalis beats all of them hands down. All the ingredients are fresh, the tomato sauce is amazing, and the crust is flakey and golden brown, and the staff are very friendly. I make it a purpose to visit Pizza Papalis several times when I come back to Michigan to visit, and it's so good that I actually thought about franchising one in Miami Beach (I live in Florida). I strongly urge you to try this place. Be sure to get the deep dish pizza as it's the best you will ever have. I used to be engaged to girl from Chicago who told me I was crazy if I thought there was a better pizza than Lou Malnati's; but after she went to Pizza Papalis, she agreed it was the best. We are both pizza fanatics. Also, the deep dish cookie with ice cream is also great. Have them heat up the cookie and give you some chocolate fudge/sauce to make it even better. Pros: Everything Cons: They Don't Have One in Florida more

They Are Closed 1/11/2009

Well I'd love to say, You GOTTA Visit this place and GET SOME Deep Dish V.I.P. Pizza, but... This Location IS CLOSED Now. I tried to swing by there after an appointment but noticed they Are gone. Very Very sad. Pros: Awesome Deep Dish, Great Sauce Cons: Farmington Hills Location CLOSED more

Good Pizza 5/27/2007

Today I tried this pizza place for the very first time. I got a small deep dish with 4 items.......I was pretty satisfied with the size and the taste. The pizza had plenty of sause.....could of used a little more cheese thou. I did not care for the crust as it was a little tough to cut though. The tables in the store were dirty when we arrived and there were only 4 total available. The place was very slow today and the help was more interested in watching the TV than to keep the place cleaner in appearance. Overall......I think the pizza was very good......but overpriced at $24.00 with tax for a small pizza with 4 items and 2 small pops. more

Best Chicago Style Pizza 5/5/2007

This is by far the best chicago pizza in the area. The pizza is so filling. Lots of cheese and sauce. The thin pizza is really good too. Order a good 35-40 minutes before you want to pick up your order though, those deep dish pizzas take a while to bake. The only downside is it is pretty pricey, but if you love chicago deep dish it is well worth it. This location shares a store with a Rio Wraps. There is very little area to dine in. Pros: Great food Cons: price more

Authentic deep dish 2/15/2006

I pick up the 1/2 baked deep dish and finish it at home. This is the real deal, although the pizzas in Chicago are more generous with the ingredients (especially the italian sausage.) The sauce is great, slightly tangy. They are generous with the cheese. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Pros: Authenticity, Lots of cheese Cons: Less Ingedients more
