Started as an offshoot of ILM back in the early 80s, Steve Jobs purchased Pixar and started it off as an independent facility. Producing commercials to make ends meet, Pixar eventually made a name for itself with the creation of the first fully computer-generated film, Toy Story. With each new film, Pixar raises the bar with animation and lighting. While some films were better than others (Finding Nemo over Cars, say), most of their product is at a level far above that of competetors. Their future looks especially bright since Disney bought them early this year.
Pros: Amazing animation, beautiful campus
