On November 8, 2011 I received services from Pitts Radiology and provided both primary and secondary insurance at the time of service. I later obtained a bill from the company that was not submitted to insurance. I called to inform them that I had primary and secondary insurance. They sent me an updated bill a month later with the primary insurance billed. I sent an email to the company asking that they bill my secondary insurance and I again included my secondary insurance. I received a bill stating that secondary insurance denied the claim because they would not provide the amount of money that primary insurance paid. I cross checked this by calling my secondary insurance. They were more than willing to pay provided Pitts Radiology provided an accurate amount that the primary insurance paid. After over 5 attempts at getting Pitts radiology to properly submit paperwork to receive their payment, I wrote a letter to the company. It was directed at the Office Manager for them to properly bill secondary insurance and disclose the primary insurance payment they received. After receiving the Explanation of Benefits from my secondary insurance company stating that they received the amount from Pitts Radiology, I did not receive a bill from Pitts Radiology stating the amount I owed. Instead the day after I got the statement from my insurance I received a collections letter with an amount due. For months, Pitts Radiology failed to properly file for money and when they finally did, they sent my account to collections without giving me warning of the updated amount. I never had a chance to pay the actual amount due.
