Biggest Mistake of my Life!!! 1/17/2011

Attending this school is the biggest mistake I ever made. It costed $20,000 for a year and a half and I will probably be paying it back for at least the next ten years. As of now, I have been going to a REAL school for 3 years and it has costed way less so far. I got my degree in Healthcare Admin at PPC 4 years ago and was never able to find a job after. I got the sense that employers don't even look at resumes where the potential employee attended this school. I got the sense they were laughing at me whenever I turned in my resume. Not to mention the fact that the credits you earn there are not transferrable so I couldn't even take advantage of the credits I already took when I decided to get my nursing degree at PCC. What does that tell you? Even other schools think this school is a joke. Not to mention that you don't learn a thing! I would have no idea how to go out and be a healthcare administrator right now because I never learned anything at that school. They were disorgnaized and the teachers were completely unknowledgable about the topic they were teaching. I once had a writer teaching my coding class. She admitted she had no clue and when someone asked a question she just gave the answer because she didn't know how to do it! In my accounting class, I ended up having to teach the class even though I have never taken it before, because the teacher knew nothing and I'm really good at teaching myself. It was a horrible mistake to go there and I regret it everyday. It was a waste of almost 2 years of my life and $20,000 which pretty much makes me sick to my stomach to think about. I could have my nursing degree by now instead of still being in school. I wish I could sue the school for my money back. They're taking advantage of the fact that people don't know how crappy they are until after they go there and then it's too late. Don't make the same mistake as me and so many others already have! Go to any other school but don't go here! more

No help with extern 8/16/2010

Five years ago i went to this school for my AAS in Paralegal studies. I worked full time and attended nights. Part of the requirements is completing a 180 hour externship. I asked Ms. King The lady that set up the externs how i would complete this while working. She said they would get me something. That never happened so i still do not have my degree. I got laid off my job two months ago. I thought now i can complete my degree, I spoke to the program director once. He told me to call him back in a week. I waiting 1.5 weeks. I have called three times no answer. I left messages each time and no response. Next i am filing a complaint with the ACICS. Hopefully that causes someone to call back. I have been paying my student loan back why cant they help me! more

Overpriced, Overall BAD experience 7/23/2007

Throught out the three terms I have been at PPC, I have had more than half of my teachers replaced in the middle of the term. The director of education has been trying to come in and change the grading scale (the grading scale is already tougher than a traditional school!). Many of the teachers are not knowledgeable about the subjects they are teaching, which leaves the students feeling as if they cant ask questions. I would never recommend this school to anyone. Make sure to look around before even considering this school as an option. Pros: Quick education Cons: Expensive, bad teachers more

STAY AWAY 8/13/2006

As a former student I would strongly suggest anyone visit different insitutions before they commit or PAY money to go here. Ask to sit in on a class if possible!! This school is just poorly organized, instructors are awful and you really don't learn what your SUPPOSED to learn. Have heard of many students who found this to be a waste of time since after graduating and didn't find a job. Keep in mind the "advisor" you go to to find out more info. about this school is there to make money and they just want to squeeze in and squeeze out as many students as possible. Don't make the same mistake I DID!!!! Pros: Small enough class sizes Cons: Most instructors are awful! You won't learn a thing!!! Supplies are limited - YOU can't even use their copy machine! Crowded!! more

Word of caution 5/25/2002

This is a word of advice to anyone thinking about attending this school. As a former student at Pioneer Pacific I experienced many unsettling things. I would urge anyone to explore all options in Portland when deciding on a school for medical assisting. I would suggest checking into another program that has much more to offer than just a good catalog, but a great education as well. I would suggest another school in Portland called Concorde Career Institute. Cons: poor organization, poor attitude, overpriced more
