My husband must have blood work done every month to make sure that his blood count is up to speed with his medicine that he takes.
The first month he went to have his blood drawn we received an outrageous bill from the Hospital (Pinnacle Health) for this lab work.
My husband then made an appointment with his family doctor to have the blood work drawn. He only paid his copay through the family doctor. When he called Pinnacle Healthy, their reasoning was "that is what the insurance covered" which we know to be incorrect, because the insurance covered the costs at the doctor's office.
I believe that Pinnacle Health is out to gouge the patients in the cost of health care above and beyond what they get from our insurance company.
