Went to the Nightmare at Pinehaven Farm haunted hayride 10/15. Even though line was short took nearly 1/2 hour to get our over priced tickets. $17.50 for adults, $15.50 for children and an extra $5.00 for the corn maze. There were 3 dis-interested, slow paced, and unfriendly people working one ticket window. I cant imagine what the line would be like on a busy evening.
Walking to the wagon there was an area that looked like it was supposed to have entertainment and bonfires burning but none to be found. In fact we picked up a flier after visiting the site that advertised bonfires ""every night"".
Got to the hay wagon and it was covered in soaking wet hay bales. At $17.50 per ticket ya think they could have purchased a few tarps to cover hay when raining.
Once the wagon began it tour it became very apparent that they were short of help because there were not many actors along the trail. In fact there were sets that had no actors on them at all. The actors that were on the trail again acted like they didnt want to be there and were more of a laugh than a jolt. Many people on the wagon began chanting lame. Some of the props that were supposed to pop out or up weren't working. To top off the ride the driver of the tractor pulling the wagon abruptly turned the tractor to the right and crashed it into a tree stump. Dont know what she thought she was avoiding, but I think the scariest part of the ride was when she tried to back the tractor and wagon up. I grabbed my 10 year old by the back of her jacket in case the wagon turned over. She jerked the tractor and wagon back and forth a few times, and at one point the wagon was sure dipping to right. Felt like I was on a sinking ship with no life boats. She finely got everything straightened out and we moved on.
After the hay ride stopped we were unloaded to walk through a haunted house. The actors working in there weren't anymore entertaining than on the trail. The highlight of the haunted house was supposed to be a spinning disorienting tunnel, but that was out of order and not spinning.
Overall very disappointing and not worth the price. I know this was a Thursday night and they were not expecting huge crowds and maybe scaled back. But then don't charge full price, tell guests at the ticket booth what not to expect, or don't open. Obviously No pride in ownership, and zero concern for perceived value and positive experiences of the customer.
Pros: Cant think of one
Cons: The wait, the price, and the wet hay.
