My son got a puppy from PAC and it came down with Parvo and so did another puppy from a different litter, she was moved several times which she wasn't suppose to be. So far we have spent $2500 at the ER vet on River and La Canada and that is not going to be all by the time she is well. Never adopt an animal from there again. They let us visit her in one of their yards and am sure they do not disinfect them between each dog. They need better cleaning procedures!! more

After looking at the other people's comments, I realize I forgot to mention that ""Kennel Cough"" is very common amongst all dogs coming from shelters like PACC. Like Parvo and others, it flys through a kennel faster than you can blink. It's easy enough to prevent with nose drops. Apparently the county doesn't have the money to inoculate all animals other than rabies, which is mandatory since people can get it. \r When taking your newly adopted pet for a check-up ask for it, along with a 5 in 1. more

BUYER BEWARE 4/28/2011

(A rating was required, otherwise I would not have given them anything) I was thinking about getting a dog from Pima County Animal Control but a friend beat me to it last week. He has now spent over $900.00 on meds (in less than 6 days) to help his ""NEW"" dog with Parvo. HOW IN THE WORLD could a place release infected dogs into the public like that! OMG!!! more

Love our PACC baby 7/23/2009

We got a 3 month old yellow lab/golden retriever mix 16 months ago for my girls. We had a terrific volunteer help us and explain the process. Our 'baby' is a great family dog and gets along with our other dog who is a bit older and also from PACC. They are both wonderful family dogs. We take them with us on vacation and for week end get aways. I can't imagine our lives without either of them. We are grateful to PACC and all the staff! Pros: Wonderful volunteers Cons: Difficult to know which dogs are availble for adoption more

Great pets found at PACC 7/23/2009

I adopted my dog from PACC. Staff was very helpful and informative. There are many pets at PACC waiting to be someone's best friend. Too bad I can only afford to adopt one pet, since I have two other dogs at home. I would recommend going to PACC before getting a pet. Pros: friendly pets, caring staff, helpful volunteers, Cons: I could only adopt 1 pet more

Abuse at P.A.C.C. 6/27/2008

Public be aware that just about all dogs coming from this shelter have ""Kennel Cough"". While this sounds minor, it is not and will require a vets care. Pros: Good volunteers , bless their hearts !! Cons: Damn poor administration, Inept and incompetent. Someone IS going to be charged with animal abuse. ! more
