Pilot Butte Drive-In Restaurant

We moved away from Bend about seven years ago and I still have dreams about this place! This is where locals go to get a good burger. The food is fresh, the service is friendly and portions are giant! The joke among my friends was that we could all just get kids meals and we'd come out really full. Seriously. I remember their fries and their homemade fry sauce. They are very generous with everything. I guess they have other things on the menu, but we always got burgers at Pilot Butte. Just don;t eat too many, or you might start looking like the side of the butte. It's a really good place to eat at! more

Every small town has one local favorite for burgers, in Bend I think it will always be Pilot butte burger. The breakfast is fantastic as well but really ppl go for the burgers.The initial draw might be the need to see the ridiculously huge pilot butte burger that feeds like 8 people but in reality all the gourmet burgers from bacon cheese or Hawaiian to one of the special of the day are to die for.The burgers are juicy and fresh,with delightful combinations to please almost everyone.It is a vision of all that is unhealthy and American,don't get me wrong I am all down for burgers fries and shakes, but its the portions that'll kill ya,I wish I had the will power to just say no but again its just too tempting. In their defense they offer amazing salads for those watching their girlish figures but again one salad is enough to feed 3 people.It almost feels like going home where they just keep feeding you just in case you haven't eaten all week. so is this a good review? you better believe it. the food rocks! just remember to keep your wild beast of an appetite in check, and prepare to wait in line or call ahead to pick up. they are super busy most of the time. more
