We could have not asked more from a home inspector. Dave was professional, timely and courteous. He answered and informed us on all the questions that can come up from first time buyers. We received a very detailed report almost immediately afterwards. This was a pleasant experience and we will be recommending Dave to our family and friends more

Dave did a great job for us. He was thorough and prompt, very professional. He articulated the inspection findings very well. He crawled all over the house looking for problems with the house. We were very impressed with him on the whole. He even has a good sense of humor. The report was very detailed and left us feeling good about our purchase. I would recommend him and his company to all my friends. more

Good: He was on time, nice, professional and explained things to us and gave us a binder with his findings and recommendations.. Bad: We specifically asked about 2areas we had concerns, he said they were fine.1 month after moving in, the issue we had with a "musty smell in the kitchen and curling linoleum by the dishwasher" (he stated was "fine" "not a problem") turned out to be a major and expensive problem- frustrating since I had that conccern and specifically asked about it. The other was also expensiv to fix. We've had more issues come up as time goes on. Wouldn't use again.. Improvements: More accurate and deeper knowledge base- since we as 1st time buyers no real building experience picked out 2 concerns that the inspector told us really not to worry about that ended up being big issues and he missed other major issues that we have had to fix as we as undereducated homeowners have found them that he should have detected!.. Other: Examples- (all these were out in the open- no ceilings, walls, plants- nothing was ever covering it up during the home inspection or when we looked at the home)structural outer beam not even supporting an entryway structure, joists cut, doors hard to close indicating structure shifting, among simpler items one would assume a home inspector would identify.. more

We called them late sunday afternoon for a rush home inspection for first thing, the next morning. David McPhee arrived and inspected all aspects of the home we were bidding on. He explained everything he checked for in great detail and provided lots of useful take home info (important stuff for first time buyers like an explanation of reverse polarity or electrolysis in plumbing). When the inspection was complete he whipped out a laptop and portable printer and prepared a thorough report detailing what was checked and the overall condition of each item. He took additional time to review the report with me, answering all my ridiculous questions with great patience :-) I highly recommend this company for home inspection services. more
