Best

You can negotiate and score some great fresh flowers for $8-10 that normally would cost $30 at a florist.

Worst

The only reason that this place stays in business is because of its location, that's for sure. It's for tourists, not repeat customers! We ordered a birthday cake and it was taste...

Amazing...just don't go on a Saturday 8/15/2011

Good: It's a Seattle icon so it's hard not to love everything about this place. There's so much to do, so much to see and so much to taste! I could list about four dozen things that a Seattle local MUST know but I'll save that for my in depth review :) Other than that, it's a must.. Bad: DON'T GO ON A SATURDAY. Or the weekend for that matter. It's crowded, you can barely walk a foot in front of you, there's no parking, traffic blows, its horrific. Unless you like people watching or mingling, it's not one for the kiddies.. Improvements: With any Seattle adventure comes the improvements...in parking. There's a few hidden and secret parking garages that are cheap and always have available spots but more parking would be nice.. more

so far, so good 10/5/2006

my 2 yr old son has been here for about 3 weeks now and so far it's been a decent experience. they take the kids for outings twice a week, even if it's just a walk around the market, which is a real plus given how much toddlers love to be outdoors. the teacher-child ratio is amazing; my son is cared for as an individual rather than as a part of a messy, noisy group. the other kids here are great as well: no biters, kickers, pushers or screamers. my son is happy and relaxed, as opposed to what he was like at his previous daycare (kindercare, downtown seattle, which was horrible). the facilities could be better but at the end of the day, i'd rather have good people rather than a good building. more

An amazing place! 1/28/2006

Pike kids is a safe, loving and happy place for our son, he adores going to school! The teachers are simply fantastic-they teach me every day and help me to parent better while guiding my son. Our son is allowed to learn through play at his own pace, he is guided to learn pro-active, non violent social skills. His teachers and classmates will "loop" through with him until he leaves the preschool for kindergarten, having thrived in a trusting and caring environment. We can't say enough how much we love this school! more

great daycare!!!!!! 10/21/2005

a few years ago i visited pike market child care center in the pike place market, when i was thinking of getting back into working with children. my life took a different turn, and i ended up not working here; but if that turn hadn't occurred i would have loved to work here! they are a fantastic group of very loving caring individuals, and as a five year old, i would've loved to go on walks exploring pike place market! how cool!!!!!! more

Need downtown child care? Our friends love this place 3/25/2005

I don't have first-hand experience with them, but my wife and I have been researching Seattle daycare centers for our own son, and several friends who work downtown have recommended Pike Market Child Care and Preschool (quite a mouthful, but that's what they're called). It's a fully accredited center, offering both full-time and part-time care. They have a great diversity policy, and their pricing is on a sliding scale based on income - a great feature for young families who may be thinking they can't afford quality childcare My understanding is that their waitlist is long, so if you're interested I'd encourage you to call soon to arrange a tour. more
