Best Customer Service 8/4/2011

I was in today to prep for a whiffle ball tournament I do with my friends every year! The staff was very friendly and awesome about helping me pick out a wig for the tournament as well as helping my sons find some little goodies. I have been in many times over the years and always have a great experience. Thanks again Pierre's for being there for me! BTW... love the new girls on staff! more

Best Service Ever! 5/3/2011

My wife and I walked into the store assuming it would be like every other Halloween costume place. That was far from the case. Pierre's has everything from makeup, to wigs, to ordering shoes, and beautiful costumes. The prices were great for the product as well! Customer service was phenomenal. Alterations were included in the rental price and the employee we worked with paid a huge amount to detail. I felt very welcome and will definitely be renting from Pierre's Costumes again. more

Awesome selection of makeup! 5/3/2011

I was worried that i couldn't find the make-up i needed for the play I was in at this time of year, but Pierre's had exactly what i needed! The staff that helped me showed me how to use some of the effects stuff like the blood capsuls and eyeblood! It was hard for me to go out the door with only what i needed for my show! I got some vampire fangs and some great costumes on clearance! Check it out! more

Everything you need and more 5/3/2011

I stopped by looking for make-up for a show I was in at my local theatre and found everything that i needed! I was instructed on how to use the products as well! I was impressed by the knowledge of the products and the upbeat energy. There is also free parking next to the store! Win! Win! Win! more

This is THE place! 5/3/2011

You cannot go wring with this place. great low prices, good customer service and a really great quality product. I was blown away by how nice the costumes were and found the staff to be really nice. Customer service is great since I didn't know what I needed and they helped me out. I cannot imagine finding any place quite like this place in the city. This is one of my favorite shops. more

Fun, easy to work with, and great products 5/3/2011

They have everything at this place. I loved the fact that the staff were offering a really great level of customer service. They help you out to get your costume when you are clueless. Prices are great and product is really nice. more

Only place for costumes in Philadelphia! 3/3/2011

Love this place!! I am gearing up for the Mutter Ball at the Mutter Museum and this is the place to go!! Not only do they have an huge warehouse but also a ton of selection! They put together an awesome Victorian Steampunk costume for my husband and I! I'm not sure what the previous post is referring to... I didn't see anything dirty there, wrinkled sure but hell my own clothes get wrinkled hanging in my closet! The staff measured me and my husband and came back with exactly what I had in mind for the ball! Perfect place to get what you need from wigs, makeup and accessories to the perfect costume!! Excellent place! I highly reccomend it! more

Awesome customer service and great costumes 10/27/2010

This place is the only place to go. Run don't walk, they will absolutely put you in the best looking costume around. Staff are so creative and happy. I found this place to be ever so much fun to visit. more

Raggedy and Dirty 10/21/2010

Worst experience of my life. The costumes were raggedy and dirty. The prices to rent were outrageous. The staff made it seem as though they were going into a warehouse to retrieve an elaborate and beautiful costume. My husband and I watched as the staff pulled dirty costumes from rubbermaid bins or boxes. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I think Pierre should hang up the costume business. more

Awesome place - great selection and staff 10/19/2010

They are really eager to please at Pierre's costumes. The staff are extremely helpful, and the place is enormous! If you can't find what you want there, then you will never find it. They have everything from hats and masks to makeup and obviously costumes. more

Great selection, nice staff 10/28/2009

The staff really care. You can tell that they like working there since they are so upbeat and willing to help. The costumes are seriously nice, and are custom tailored to you. It was like playing dress-up. We rented two really nice quality costumes and bought some accessories to go with them. Next time I need a costume, I will be back. Pros: Educated patient staff. Huge selection Cons: Busy at Halloween - popular place more

They are awesome 5/21/2009

I went there to find costumes for a Victorian themed wedding me and my wife had to go to, and it was a great experience from the moment we stepped in the shop. I admit I didn't have any idea what to expect, but the staff member we worked with was very helpful so our costumes were unique and very stylish. I'm definitely going there for Halloween next year. Pros: excellent knowledge, friendly staff, very helpful more

A life saver for Backstage Moms! 5/19/2009

I was in recently for make-up purchases for a high school theater show that I was helping out on; my son is in the show and I'm helping with the make-up and costumes. The staff was very nice and helpful and they helped me to figure out what would work best for the show, (we have 40 kids in the show). We are doing standard stage makeup with some 3D effects and stage-blood. The place was huge and they seemed to know where everything was and were very quick about finding things. The staff also seemed to really care about the shop which was very clean and inviting. They were actually cleaning as I was in and changing their displays and obviously having fun! It must be the best place on earth to work!! I will be back again and not just for my son's school plays! Pros: Knowledgable staff, great selection, awesome prices, clean! Cons: too much to choose from! more

The costume shop for those who are in the ""know"" 4/20/2009

I am a regular at this place. I am in the event and promotions business. I obviously need an establishment that always comes through for me. Pierre's always sets the bar higher and higher! They are very, very creative and the staff are whizzes at brainstorming and helping me plan my events (I get all the credit). There is practically nothing they can't find, make, or locate at Pierre's Costumes. they do far more than costumes as well, they offer shoes, hats, masks, wigs, table dressings, props, swords, makeup, and so much more. Bottom line is, before you assume they don't have it, ask to speak to a manager, and they can probably get it, or it is hiding in a corner of the huge shop (it stretches from 3rd street almost to 2nd street). The people there are nice, friendly and ever so nice to work with. I will not go anywhere else. Pros: They make it really easy for you Cons: You can lose track of time because the place is so much fun more

From Easter Bunnies & Santa Suits to Parties & Fun Stuff 4/20/2009

They really enjoy their jobs at Pierre's costumes, that is obvious. Everyone is smiling at this place - customers and employees. This is not your cheesy halloween store, this is the real deal where you will get waited on hand and foot and end up felling very, very special. the nice thing at the end of this is that I actually ended up spending less than I would have at a party store, and spent lots less time and definitely had a lot less in the way of headaches. They are even able to help you with accessories, makeup, and wigs after they help yo with the costumes. I also found some great shoes to match my outfit as well. You feel guilty taking up all of their time there, but they do it all with a great attitude and a smile. I would suggest that you visit before you need the outfit. I saw people walking in on Saturday when I picked up my rental costume, and they were a little panicked (the staff were still nice to them) since they needed costumes that night! All I had to do was pick up my costume that I had already chosen (they were pressing and altering it and getting it ready for me). I do think that planning ahead would get you a less stressful experience, but I don't think that the staff would treat you any differently, I think that the stress is all your own. Pros: Seriously enthusiastic expert staff, they're eager to please Cons: Making up your mind. You are like a kid in a toy store more

Great place to get your Theatrical costumes 2/10/2009

I use Pierre's for my theatre costumes. They have been helping me for years. They are very, very knowledgable and always come through for me. I like the quality of the costumes they offer and the prices cannot be beaten. The staff are always creative and have an extremely artistic flair when it comes to pulling great looking costumes for a show. The costumes always seem to look complete and dress the stage well and I never need to do anything in the way of alterations since they do all of that for me. Working with Pierre's is almost like cheating since I tell them what I want, and they provide it for me cheaper than I could do it myself. They have so much in the way of inventory, that I always know they can fit the large range of actors that I have in my cast and that even the smallest or largest performers will still get a nice looking outfit. Pros: Only REAL theatrical costume shop left for 100 miles around Cons: They spoil you more

Simply the best place to get costumes and makeup in the Delaware Valley 1/17/2009

I spent a couple of hours visiting some of the ""so-called"" costume shops that list themselves in the phone book. Don't waste your time with them! Pierre's Costumes is the place to visit first if you want to save your time. They have everything the others have and lots more. Plus the staff are nicer and the prices lower too. I seriously wish I had gone there first! I found everything I needed for my event at this place from make-up to hats and wigs as well as the entire costume that I needed for the several people on the board of our event. The manager offered to get more stock in since I wanted over 100 masks (cheap ones) for give away items. They really are nice there and are accommodating. They have lots of parking outside and I found that if you park on the side of the building it is free (3 hour). Getting back onto the highway was simple and the entire process was very simple. I will be visiting them again next time I need something in the costume world. Pros: So much to choose from, great staff, helpful suggestion lists, great looking showroom more

Nothing else compares to this place 1/17/2009

Love to shop here. The staff make it really easy to find what you want and the selection is really great. Nice prices are an added bonus too. I really can't think of anything they could not do at Pierre's they have makeup, wigs, hats, props, elaborate costumes, and tons of accessories at this enormous shop. Not only do they have lots of items in stock, but they also custom make stuff too as well as custom order large quantities (at a discount) for parties too.\r \r I can't think of any other place like this in the tri-state area. This is an old fashioned costume shop, but with up to date looking costumes and hip acting staff that are eager to please.\r \r Pros: customer service, staff knowledge, selection, more

Best Costume Shop in Philly! 11/9/2008

I was in recently to get a few last minute pieces needed for my Halloween costume and was amazed at the place! The have so much there and it just seemed to be a awesomely creative place to go! I had seen them on the news recently with Santa talking about the place and when I came in Santa was there getting a new suit! I found out from overhearing the staff talking with Santa that they do custom design as well as working with Halloween customers and was amazed at their abilities! This place totally rocked and my experience with the staff was awesome! They were very helpful and I found the accessories I needed for my Cleopatra costume! Awesome necklaces at very reasonable prices! \r \r Next year I will defintely being going back and this time renting something from them! I understand that the rentals range in price depending on what you get but that it rarely goes over $125 for a costume but the quality you get is amazing! The manager even showed me the gown she was going to wear for Halloween and it was amazing, well worth the money to rent.\r \r I highly recommend this over any seasonal Halloween or party store! Pros: Excellent selection, one-on-one consultations with designers, friendly staff Cons: too much to chose from! more

Best place to get a Halloween costume in town 10/28/2008

I just picked up my halloween costume, and all I can say is it is awesome! The staff were very accommodating with my indecisive nature. This place has so much stuff that it really is hard to make up your mind. The people that work here are all very nice and are really well informed in what things should look like. They really are experts at what they do. Considering how swamped this place is, it was running like a well oiled machine. They were restocking walls, running into the warehouse and answer phone calls with helpful answers. i really felt bad for them. The guy that worked with me told me that they do theatre the rest of the year so that next week they will enjoy a little rest. I guess theatre is easy after the crazy masses descending upon you at once! They also have makeup and wigs to round out your costume. If you are going to a nice event, make sure you stop in at Pierre's costumes, they will take good care of you. Pros: Fun time while there, great staff, quality costumes, upbeat environment, they make it easy for you Cons: addictive - you want it all! more
