This place is WAY past its prime. Great location, but terrible food, terrible atmosphere, poor service. Please sell and let a better restaurant capitalize on the Calatrava and city views...puhlease!! more

We were told about this restaurant 15 years ago because we were honeymooning in Milwaukee. Every since, any special occasion has us back at Pieces of Eight. Waiters are always friendly and attentive; even when the restaurant is crowded (which is often). A couple of years ago, we couldn't celebrate on Valentine's Day, but went to Pieces of Eight on a Tuesday night for an early celebration . . . how lovely, we were practically dining alone, and the full moon was lovely over Lake Michigan! We came to your city on a concert tour of Tom Petty at the Mecca in downtown Milwaukee. It was a pleasant stay at a fine downtown hotel within walking distance of the Mecca where petty was playing at. We awoke the next day to find ourselves starved beyond belief and furiosly looking in a phone book for a good place to have a meal before we left for the trip home. To our luck, we stumbled onto a fine establishment called Pieces Of Eight. We all agreed on making the trip North to a feast on the lakefront. I was greeted by a view to die for. an ambience on a level you seldom see anymore, and one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. Of course the view is fabulous! The remodeling of the building is classy and the food was excellent as was our server and we were even greeted by the General Manager who came by our table to personally see how we were enjoying our visit. Pieces of Eight, a Milwaukee icon, has the best brunch around. Their newly remodled building has a open feeling to it and the service is fantastic. Customer satisfaction is definately a priority with them. Perfect for anniversaries, wedding parties, or any romantic occasion. Very beautiful with a great view...not to mention the amazing food. I suggest the Sunday all you can eat brunch bar, there's everything from fruit and salad to breakfast foods to seafood and steak...definitely a meal fit for a king and queen.
