This pizza is the best! When I found out about the restaurant, I went the next day. I grew up on this pizza when they were located in Hickory Hollow Mall, so I was THRILLED to know they still existed! Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. It was exactly the same as I remembered. You just have to try it, no words can describe how delicious this pizza is. Oh, and don't forget the CHEESECAKE!!!! Pros: homemade everything, cheesecake! Cons: the area, crowded on weekends more

Picnic Pizza is THE BEST pizza joint in Nashville. If you want authentic NYC-style pizza, head to Picnic Pizza. If you hit the buffet, do so on a day when you do not have to go back to work. It's hard to stop eating PP's buffet; and a nap is definitely necessary afterward! more

PICNIC PIZZA IS BY FAR THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY. THE PIZZA IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS ANYWHERE WHETHER IT BE THE THIN OR THE SICILIAN TYPES. Get Real!! 3rd Place?!?! These are REAL Italians here with REAL Italian food and REAL Italian accents!! 'Pizza Perfect' ain't perfect!! Cardboard anyone?? And 'Davinci's' a PAINTER not an Italian chef!! What does he know about food?!? If you want authentic, homemade Italian eats, this is THE place to go. Made fresh daily sauces, breads, and all. And I've never been to a friendlier place. Picnic Pizza is just a down-home restaurant with an Italian flair. Nothing fancy. Nothing expensive. Just tasty Italian food fresh out of the oven. Southeast Nashville has known for a while the best place to eat is Picnic Pizza, the staff treats you like family and the food is to die for, everything is made fresh. The only bad thing is everything is soooo good you have a hard time making up your mind as to what your going to order! more

The Pizza is great. The sandwiches are great. The spinach lasagne is great. The baked Ziti is great. The people are great.....the whole place is great. If you haven't tried it, you have to! If you voted for any other pizza joint then you haven't eaten here yet!!! more

Just good food, good prices, good selection, and a buffet that runs 6 days a week. Who could ask for more in a joint run by Italian New Yorkers, who sing and speak in Italian while they work? Who know you by name and ask you how your day is going, everytime you walk in? Incredible food, incredible place. Pros: From scratch., Fresh., CHEAP. Just tried it for the first time and loved it! Great pizza and everything homemade. Yummy desserts and incredibly cheap. Kids liked everything too! We drove from Mt. Juliet and would do so again. more

Best Pizza that no one knows about 8/12/2002

I've been eating Picnic Pizza in its various locations (Hickory Hollow mall, Harding Mall) for over 15 years now. I was so thrilled to move back to Nashville last year and find that they finally had their own restaurant. It is by far the best New York style pizza in Nashville. I just think it's crazy that after all of these years it has remained a localized secret and all of these other rather boring pizza places keep getting the Best of Pizza awards. Authentic from the accents of the real New Yorkers who own it, to every greasy, chewy bite, Picnic Pizza is the best! My only complaint is the smoking section dominates the restaurant and is not very seperate from the non-smoking area. Hard on pregnant women and families with kids. I just get it as a take-out! Pizza in Mayberry 7/30/2002

It heads and shoulders abouve the rest. The food can not be beat and the atmosphere is the best! It makes one feel like they are in a small town, as they seem to know all the regular customers by name. Just like in Mayberry! more
