It is the hidden ""Jewel"" of Astoria..The ""Colorado Lack of Lamb"" to die for..The serves is classic and always spot on. Very impressive wine list for outside NYC..Go for lunch as your first experience, when it's a little quieter. I grew up two blocks away from Piccola and it's still by far my favoite place.\r \r Pros: Family atomsphere Cons: Crowded at nite more

Mama Mia! 9/24/2007

I really enjoyed my meal. It also has a very old school Bronx Tale kind of feel to it. It made the experience feel authentic. Both the food and service were top notch. They have a lot of older customers that look like they've been going there forvever which is always a good sign. This place can get preety crowded so I suggest avoiding peak times. more

Simply Amazing Food. 6/4/2006

The food here is simply amazing! Melt in your mouth gnocci, bible sized wine list, amazing service and a festive atmosphere of all ages. The service was excellent, and i can't say I or anyone in our party had a bad dish, they were all amazing. I'm talking about apps through entry, pasta, wine, coffee and dessert! A rare feat! Simply a must try. Only thing that could use a little imporvement is the simple interior design. A little out dated, but i guess that's what give it its charm. And that doesn't matter too much when everything else is so excellent! I have italian all over mahanttan and must say this place overall tops them all! Pros: Amazing Food., Excellent Service, feel your at home Cons: crowded at peak hrs. more

One of the best in Astoria 2/19/2006

This place is awesome. The atmosphere could be a little better, I'm not a fan of drop ceiling tiles in upscale restaurants, but everything else is absolutely top notch. The servce was impeccable, as was the food. A bit expensive, but well worth it. Pros: Wonderful Staff, Fabulous Serice, Incomparable food Cons: Could be better more

top notch 9/14/2003

the decor and ambiance is a bit formal and stuffy as the waiters are in formal attire and the crowd is older. this is a great place to bring your parents - not that that's a bad thing. the food and service is excellent overall. i had homemade istrian bowties with grappa sauce that was outstanding. they have a remarkably extensive wine list that you can see on their website. more

Amazing 5/6/2003

You can't go wrong. Everything is made to order and delicious. Service is wonderful and the food is even better. It's like being in Italy. Pros: Terrific Food, Excellent Service, Great Wine List Cons: Dated Ambiance more
