I was assaulted at the Picadilly Flea Market 3/8/2012

My wife and I entered the flea market at 2:20. The market ends at 4. A lot of the vendors were packing up and leaving. I asked the lady at the front table for a refund. She offered me one token when there were obviously two of us. A man named Fred, who said he ran the flea market, came up to me and told me to come back after three if we wanted to get in free. He was very close to me so I asked him to back off. He came up to me and forcfully hit me with his abdomen, he then hit my hand violently with his. I did absolutely nothing to provoke this attack. Frankly I was traumatized and left bruised by this out of control behavior by a person who was supposed to be running the flea market. Quite a scary place to say the least. more

Piccadilly Flea Market 8/31/2005

Piccadilly is held at the Lane County Fairgrounds on West 13th Street downtown. The flea market runs Sundays -- check the newspaper for specific schedule details. The market doesn't run in the summer months. There is lots of parking available, but how close to the doors you can get will depend on when you get there, and what other events are scheduled that weekend at the conference center. Hours are 10am-4pm. Go early if you really want to buy. This is a totally covered market, and can be a nice way to pass some time on a rainy, wet winter day. Admission is still a great deal at $1.50 -- they may offer early entry for an additional charge. If you want to sell, space can be reserved for under $20 -- be sure to call and make arrangements. (541) 683-5589. Well over 200 dealers are on-site, with a great variety of merchandise. This used to be a primo site for vintage collectibles at good prices, but these days many vendors mark items up way too high! Check conditions, and know your price ranges before you buy -- buyer beware! Inside there are snack bars with generic fast food. Some vendors sell food items -- check outside the front doors, sometimes there are great buys on fresh local produce. Restrooms, heated, air conditioning too! more
