Recommend this for all ages! 8/25/2011

My five year old started about one year ago and he loves it! The instructors are amazing. He is a shy child and has had some physical development issues, which have all now been resolved, thanks in part to martial arts training. The teachers are patient and good with children. Sonny, owner and master instructor, is someone that I am proud to have as a role model for my son. more

More than just ""self defense"" or ""sparring"" 7/31/2009

I've been studying martial arts through Piasa Martial Arts (admittedly, not as regularly as I would like to) for for almost 20 years. I am now a police officer so, yeah, I have more need for hands-on type knowledge than the average joe, but I've only even thought about being a police officer for 5 years now. Piasa Martial Arts, unlike the other area schools, is not nearly as concerned with just pushing everybody through the ranks as fast as possible to get through the belts quickly to keep your interest in attending. Piasa Martial Arts is more concerned with develpment of the whole person... mind too! In my experiences, being a mental black belt has helped me far more than the rank or color of the belt around my waist! Pros: health, community, support Cons: sweat more

EXCELENT 6/11/2008

I recieved my black belt in three years of training under Sonny ( 6th degree black belt ) and John Hatten, I am one of manny people who have made it to black belt and still intend to keep going. Mr. Hatten is great with students of all ages. Mr. John Hatten teaches classes at Nautalis, and is a National Champion in Tae-Kwon-Do Olympic Sparring. I recomend classes to anyone and everyone who is willing to work hard for something they want.\r Pros: Great people willing to help out Cons: there are none more
