I was looking for a stylist that had experience with transitioning hair. I am 9 months into my transition. I found Phyl New Hair Salon online. I called and spoke with Phyllis the owner.. She was very open and honest with me. I told her about my concerns. She met my needs and concerns with real information that I could wrap my head around. She spoke of healthy hair and familiar products. I made the appointment for the following day with a stylist named Shae. Shae was on time at 9am on a Saturday morning. Shae was very personable and professional. She informed me of all of her movements concerning my hair before she did it. I am very pleased with my trim, color and style. I made a follow up appointment. Ladies I am Very, very picky about my hair. My former stylist for about 20 years was great but he refused to keep his license current therefore he lacked the skills for today's styles. He CAN NOT do my hair anymore (because of trust issues). But, Shae and the ladies of Phyl New Hair Salon CAN. I wasn't there for an extremely long time and I felt like a priority to my stylist. I love my texture and healthy hair. I live in Northwest Winston Salem and was looking for a Hair Salon near my home. I googled several salons and after reviewing Phyl New Beauty Salon, I decided to call and I am very happy I did. When I called, I had the pleasure of talking to Ellen, made an appointment and arrived on time the following day. I found Ellen and the staff at Phyl New Beauty Salon very professional and friendly. My first visit was very pleasant and satisfying. With the time constraints of my profession, my time is extremely important. Ellen was on time and ready for me, and she was excellent.. I've never had anyone to do a color that did not end up on my neck, ears or temple. Of course, with Ellen, it was not on anything but my hair--great job! My family and I recently moved her from NJ and I was looking for a salon for myself and granddaughter. My niece recommended Phyl. First impression are truly the best! Salon was the cleanest salon I've seen. When I arrived (on time) Ms. Phyllis was waiting for me!! WOW thats a first! Very professional, answered my questions, the receptionist was very professional and so friendly. This is MY SALON, and my grand-daughters. I love the respect for YOUR time...a rarity in salons today. I would recommend to anyone I know without a second thought. Love It!!! more

I found about this salon via a Google search after much frustration from trying out some other salons. I felt that I didn't have much to lose by trying out yet another one. My expectations of a beautician were not only met, but exceeded! This is one of the cleanest salons that I have ever been in. The atmosphere is professional, there's no profanity or gossiping. One of things that I like the most is that she respects your time and doesn't over book appointments. You will not spend all day in the salon. I have been going there for 3 months now and have never spent more than 2 hours there. Another thing that I really like is that an emphasis is placed on healthy hair not just hair that looks good. Your hair will look good and feel good. The salon also sells products that are used on your hair to maintain your style at home in between salon visits. As you can see, I can't say enough good things about this salon and it comes highly recommended from someone who is very choicy! more
