I had my second tattoo done by Matt at Phoenix and it was an amazing experience. I was a walk-in and he fit me in as soon as he could. The shop was very clean and I was very impressed with the generosity of the staff. I will definitely be going back to Matt for my next tattoo. I highly recommend Phoenix Tattoo! more

I recently had my first tattoo at Phoenix Tattoo and was very impressed! I worked with Rob Rutherford on the design (which I thought was pretty detailed, the Buddhist symbol for the Dharma Wheel), he made some great suggestions and two weeks later the ink looks great! I will definitely go back to Phoenix Tattoo and work with Rob on future ink. The shop was very clean and the staff was great. Thank you Andrew Cook for referring me to Rob! more

Wonderful shop! Clean, very professional, great atmosphere. All of the artists are friendly and nice!! I definitely recommend this place and will be getting another tattoo here! Ryan was awesome! After visiting some other local shops and researching online we decided to stop in to Phoenix and I'm glad we did. The shop is bright, clean, neat and inviting. You're made to feel welcome when you walk in and are treated with respect. We stopped into Phoenix on a Saturday and were able to get an appointment for the next Tuesday. I'm glad we didn't have to wait months like at some shops.Our artist was Matt, although all the artists there are friendly and talented, and he did an awesome job designing my wife's custom tattoo. He listened to what she wanted and understood the significance of her design and came back with exactly what she was looking for. As for me I went to get an old tattoo refreshed and after initially thinking it couldn't be saved Matt ended up being able to not only save it but revitalize it and it looks amazing. We are already planning our next visit there and highly recommend Phoenix Tattoo to anybody looking for outstanding work. more

I chose Phoenix Tattoo based on online reviews and a friend . I called first thing Saturday when they opened and was told to come right in. I only waited a short while and Ryan was able to get me in without a appointment. This was my first tattoo and was very impressed with everything. Everyone was very nice and the place was very clean! My tattoo is now only 3 hours old but decided to write my review now because I was so happy with it. I will be going back to Ryan for my next one, which may be very soon. more

I went to Pheonix to get a tattoo by Lacie. Everyone was very friendly and the studio was very nice and welcoming. Everyone I met there was completely professional. Lacie does wonderful work, and I would definitely go back. more

Lacie rocks! My daughter and her husband have been telling me to go to Lacie for months to repair/redesign a 20 year old tattoo on my back. Lacie took my design, made some suggestions, and inked an awesome cross that I am so proud of.\r \r I will definitely be going back to see Lacie in the future and will let anyone in the triangle know that she is the best!!!\r \r Lacie's work has also been published in multiple tattoo mags and her work has won awards at various events. more

I was very impressed with this place. I went to get some lettering filled in and Ryan did a great job. He filled it in nicely and he also touched up a number of areas. You can tell these guys take pride in their work. I will definitely be going back to get my next tattoo. \r \r Everyone was friendly and personal & they gave me a very reasonable price. I got my third tattoo my Hayden Abernathy yesterday and I was extremely pleased with both the tattoo itself and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The shop is very clean. Hayden took the time to make sure the sketch was exactly what I wanted and during the tattoo process gave me opportunities to make decisions regarding the details and shading. She provided education as to what elements would make for a tattoo that holds up over time so I could make the best decisions for my piece. Her fine line work is amazing - I highly recommend her for anyone looking to get a tattoo with delicate, clean lines. I'm excited to see the healed product. more

After doing a lot of research on where I wanted to get my first tattoo done, I found Phoenix Tattoo. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, and only had a brief sketch of what I meant while having to describe the rest. Mike Blas took my idea and was able to express it much better then I could, but in ink. He came back a perfect sketch up of it and moments later it was getting inked into my calve. more

I am so happy with this place. It was clean and everybody was so nice. I had Lacie do my tattoo and I am so happy, she listened to me about what I wanted and did not tell me what I wanted was stupid ( I had gone to another tattoo shop and I was told that). Lacie is going to fix a tattoo of mine that is really messed up from another tattoo shop. I would recommend this shop to anyone that wants a tattoo. more

Lacie did my tattoo last week and it is amazing! It looks so realistic and was exactly what I wanted. She also added a blue background to my existing tattoo and really made everything come together. During our consult, she took the time to understand what I wanted, and answered all my questions. When I went back for my tattoo she always ensured that I was okay and as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this shop and will be going back for my next tattoo...as soon as I figure out what I want. :) more

I went to see Lacie today for my first tattoo and it was an AWESOME experience. She came highly recommended by several of my friends and they were absolutely right about her. All I had was a cell phone picture and an idea in my head and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back. more

  • Welcome to Phoenix Tattoo Studio! We are located at 1215 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. We are open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 10pm, and Sunday by appointment only.

    Shop prices are based on the design. We charge a flat rate on ready images or flash (subject to size and location) and a rate of $140 an hour on larger work or pieces that require more than one sitting. We have a $60 shop minimum and require a deposit on all appointments. Walk-ins are welcome and designs that require drawing time may be subject to a $20 fee.
